Remembering Dave
That was the quote from my Oncologist today. There is still something in the left lung and it may have even gotten bigger since my last CT scan. It could be Pneumonia or Bronchitis or just shadows. He really does not think it is the cancer.....but at this point there really is no telling what it is. I am getting an appointment to go to a Pneumonologist (sp?--Lung Doc) sometime this week and he may stick a camera down inside me to see what's going on (Bronchoscopy). I have had a sore throat and have been feeling a little icky since late last week. I had a Blood Transfusion on Tuesday due to my blood counts being very low, felt great on Wednesday and then started getting the sore throat and generally feeling bad on Thursday, Doc says it does not have anything to do with the transfusion although my counts are still pretty low. Guess we will have to wait and see what the other Doc says. For all of you that don't know, Karen had a Stage 2 Melanoma (Skin Cancer) removed last month and is doing just fine. The Docs will follow her once a year but do not expect her to have any more problems with it. Faith is doing just fine. She is full of herself and adding to her vocabulary everyday. She is still not talking in sentences but knows a lot of words and learns new ones everyday. Guess we really need to start watching what we are saying around her, ha,ha. Well I need to get off here and get some rest. I am still getting tired really easy and will until my blood counts get up. Don Wood
David, thanks so much for the great update on you and your family. Sounds like things are going well, and I pray they will continue for you all that way. Don
Sam'swifeShirley
David, Have the doc's considered doing a PET scan. I'd feel a lot better if I knew that this "something" was "cold" on PET scan. Sam
cathy
David, I agree with Sam. Have they mentioned a pet scan?
norme
David, Take charge and make them give you a pet scan for your own safety. Don't go with the might be this or might be that.....its your lungs.....not theirs's. if theirs they would have a PET
kimblanchard
David, I agree with everyone. Get that Pet scan. Peg
Tiny
David, That was tough news on top of everything else, but I'm hoping and praying for the best news possible. I'm glad you're going to see a lung specialist and hope they follow up with a PET as per Sam's recommendation. Kiss the baby and give my best to Karen...glad she is doing well. Keep the faith and enjoy the little wonderful surprises each day presents...such as new words .
