Determined in San Fran
My mom says her muscles hurt so bad she has a hard time moving at all and when we try to help her move she crys in pain, but the docs say the cancer shouldn't be affecting anything other than her brain at this point. She has been bed ridden for almost 2 months does anybody know if this can make your muscles that sore? Any help or info would be much appreciated. Thanks
natalie
Could she be having an side effect from the medication? Are the doctors giving her anything for her pain? Vicodin or Percocet? My moms ache's came from the chemo...so I'm not sure what would be causing this for your mom. I would question the doctors
Don Wood
If your mom has been bed-ridden, it very possibly is that her muscles are not getting enough use. S9o they atrophe and hurt. Is she eligible for physical therapy, so they can work to increase her strength and her muscle tone?
shirleyb
If you mother's doctor approves it, you might try some massage therapy. Sometimes because the circulation is hampered from being in bed so much, massage sometimes will help to ease the discomfort. Check with her doctor's first though.
