  1. Hey Girlie! I admire you for having the guts to pick up and move! I hope the Caribbean is everything you'd hoped it be and more. I visited St. Thomas about 7 years ago and fell in love with it and the locals. Those banana daquiries are really good. It is really nice to get an update on you. I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's reoccurence. Please keep us posted on her and you.
  2. Unbelievable. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this! I'm thinking and praying for you.

    Hello

Cheryl! Hello!! It's so good to hear from you. How have you been? Please give us an update when you find a moment. I've often wondered how you were doing.

  8. Way to use your connections with your Mom's onc! It's always good to get a second opinion! I hope the in-vitro goes well. Thinking of you!
  9. Carleen, I'm so terribly sorry to hear about Keith. Through watching your journey the last three years I want to tell you that you and Keith have touched my life with inspiration. Keith was a true fighter. I know that Keith will not be forgotten because you and him were one together and I know that because of that you emulate him in your personality. His family must be so proud to have you in their lives. You were a dedicated wife and unbelievable support. I pray that you can have "signs", dreams, memories, anything helpful that can help you have breaks from the pain. Keith is finally free from this disease.
  10. Lori, I'm so sorry. Reading your post just reminded me of the raw and shocking place this disease can bring you to. I whole heartedly can empathize with you and wish I was nearby to reach out and hug you. Unfortunately I don't have any insightful words but want to let you know that I'm thinking of you and your sweet mom. No one, not even cancer, can take away that special relationship you and your Mom have. Cancer is a serious *&(hole. I wish it were tangible to beat the %*^( out of. (Sorry, my anger is coming out here)
  11. That is terrific news!!
  12. Andrea, How terrific! I will keep you in my prayers!

  14. Thanks Michele My friends Mom did a lot for me when I was younger. She is the Mom that all of went to for advice when we were teenagers. I just empathize so much with them all and I just wish there was something I could do.
  15. Thanks everyone! Luckily, family is flying in and my friend who just had her baby is recuperating quickly and going to be there this weekend. I'm going to email her sister and let her know your suggestions. I hate cancer. I really do.
  16. Hi Everyone, I need your help again. My good friend's little sister (who is only 22) is in need of some help in the home. Her mom is being sent home tomorrow from the hospital and she feels she can no longer care for her mom on her own. My friend (who is her older sister) is in the hospital right now 2 hours away (just had a baby) so she can't help right now. Their Medicare application for their Mom is in process (they have no insurance), but the hospital won't refer any home care because they don't officially have Medicare intact yet. Anyone have any advice? Right now their mom is probably prematurely being sent home. Her speech and mobility is impaired and they are no longer treating her. This just doesn't seem right to me.
  17. Glo, Your mother is in my prayers and you are in my thoughts.

  21. Hi Everyone, Today, my best friend's mom was told she has lung cancer. Her mom does not have insurance. She does not have financial resources either for this. Where can I go to find grants, medical relief? What can she do to make sure she gets the proper treatment and has the resources to pay for them?
  22. What a great post... My mom is shopping with no restrictions or worries. She is talking and laughing with my Grandma. They are oohing and ahhing over seeing Peter Jennings, Marilyn Monroe, Christopher Reeves and others. Anne, I think my mom and Dennis have met as my mom was a social magnet too...I'm sure they have run into each other by now. Mom and my grandma are having big lunches with all the family members. Her dogs King Kong and Rodier are by her side. They are so happy to see her again. My mom is telling stories... really exagerrated ones and then laughing really really loud at herself. I miss my mom.
  23. Hey Laurie! I was glad to see your post and really happy to hear about your Mom!!
