blaze100 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Hi, Has anyone here used one of those plastic mouth piece apparatuses that promise improved breathing in 3-5 days? They come under various names. They promise to strengthen breathing muscles by restricting inhale and exhale during exercise. I've tried yoga for last 5 years and walking too, which has helped, but my breathing is still not the same as before. I would just like to take a big old breath of air like I used to. Anyway, wondering if anyone has tried one of these and if it worked. Thanks. Barb Quote
cindi o'h Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Hi Barb, I was just given one with instructions in my pulmonary rehab class. It is called a P-flex. I trust that it does work. I have so much confidence in my pulm. therapist. Also, I was given another device called an Acapella. The purpose of this is to help to loosen and expel secretions. PFlex 908 Pompton Ave. Cedar Grove, NJ 07009-1292 Order # 553 Good luck. You may have to have someone show you how to use the device correctly. Cindi o'h Quote
