ginnyde
Heard very quickly on the news this am about a new drug for LC. It sounded like is was called (phonetic spelling) hippatenu. Does anyone have any more information? Fingers crossed. Ginny
Ry
When we went to get results of John's CT scan Tuesday our onc. told us there was a new drug that was through trials and would probably be available in January. He said that it is what my husband will be taking if the Iressa stops working but he would not tell me the name of it.
sherriot
My mother's oncologist has been very excited by the new drugs in the pipeline. He also said there were several being considered for approval in January. Unfortunately the only one that I can remember is Avastin? I believe it is similar to Herceptin for breast cancer. I will ask him to write down the names the next time I see him. Sherri
john
Check this list out. Maybe it is hycamtin(Topotecan) or herceptin. I thought herceptin was tried a while ago on LC and not effective, but maybe I am wrong or there is something different about herceptin http://www.cancerconsultants.com/what_data.php?x=1#lung
Marie
Hi Ginny, I heard it on the news too. They said it was a pill for certain types of LC. I don't think I heard the name, but they said the info would be released today in the medical community. Sounds good. My fingers are crossed. berisa
It is a good news. Can it be used on Small Cell Lung Cancer patients? Hope it works for them too.
Guest
I emailed the TV station that aired the report. They acknowledged the email and said they would respond. Haven't heard yet.
