Medical Terminology

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Are there any resources for medical terminology for patients with lung cancer and their families? I have two brothers who are not well versed in medical speak as my oldest brother and I are. I understand what the doctors are telling me. I would really appreciate it! If there aren't any, I would be willing to put some info together.

Thanks,

Kristi

Hi, Kristi:

There's a rather extensive Glossary available here (link in the left column), but that may not be quite what you're looking for. In addition to that glossary, I do a lot of Googling, and I've seen some other lists on the Web, but not specifically for lung cancer. If you're willing to devote some time to that sort of project, I'd say go for it! Aloha,

Ned

Thank you Rich!!! Those are great!!

There are also handouts thru the Lung Cancer Alliance that are excellent resources. They have a booklet for those newly diagnosed that go over some of those terminologies and also a dvd that explains further about clinical trials and their uses and benefits.

you can go to their website and order those for free.
