kimblanchard
Hi Adam, My mother had her first transfusion 2 wks. ago. She seemed to have more energy pretty quickly afterwards. It was a long proceedure about 5-6 hrs. for 2 pints. The doctor gave her an Arenesp (sp?) shot which she gets every two weeks (like Procrit). Glad the pain is getting under control. Take care, Kim
MO_Sugar
Adam, I had several transfussions while undergoing chemo and I always felt better afterward. Takes awhile to get it all in but they always gave me Benadryl before hand so I slept through most of it. I am sure your Dad will be feeling better soon. God Bless, MO
SpellBinder
Hiya Adam Blood transfusion is essintial specially for your fath cause he has the same problem as mine...cancer in spine......doesnt help in rbc and at a certain point he'd need it..but yes he'd feel better and better....and usually each pack increases his blood hp 1 point or so and if i were you....i'd feed him all the good stuff that helps him maintain his blood level while he is feeling extra good! I'm so very glad that his pain is getting less.........and i wish him full recovery
