Friday's Air

Morning All! I can usually only manage to post once a day on "packing up the RV" days so I thought I'd start another Air. I do duck in and read though and it was so good to see so many friends on the Air. Will, thanks for making a showing. You know how I love that pic of you with the Top Gun thing going on lol.

I get the idea that for many of us HOT is the temp of the days now. Mike and Janet could use some of our FL sunshine so I'm (hopefully) sending some your way. Ann, I'm envying you having those grandkids close. Mine are 5 hrs and 8 hrs away. And that small town parade brings back great memories. Don't know why but I was "really really" little when I was young. We had a parade like that in a nearby town. They used to dress me and a little dog up to walk in the parade and we won a prize every year lol. Muriel I hope your husband has better luck retiring this time and finds something to keep him out of your hair real quick. My husband's supposed to be retired but isn't. Donny I trust you got that nosebleed under control quick. You're not supposed to bleed it out right after they put it in. I also hope those platelets help how you feel.

That's all folks just more getting ready for the long haul. Oh, one funny Freudian slip this morning. I picked up the wrong day's container of pills this morning and took Sunday's decadron by mistake. I knew it as soon as the taste hit my mouth. Think I did it accidently on purpose to get the energy to do what I need to do today?

Have a great day.

Judy....get that packing done early because the way this heat has been going it will be 100 before 10:00. I was really glad to log on and see you had already given us some "fresh air" this morning. Funny how just reading thoughts from someone in our beautiful Keys can bring a smile to my face. Don't know if I've ever told you before, but Dennis and I used to spend a lot of time in Islamorada when we lived in North Miami. We would load up the boat and the kids and off we'd go. Those were the days!!!

OK...enough looking back and getting sad. It's Friday and that means looking ahead to a great weekend. We're helping with dinner at the Post tonight. Menu is stuffed cornish hen, mashed potatoes, corn, salad and cherry chocolate cheesecake. Anyone hungry yet?

As most of you know, I'm a garage sale nut. I love garage sales. I think it's always the "thrill of the hunt" that I enjoy most. I just always know that I'm going to find some priceless treasure....some priceless antique. I have visions of being features on Antiques Roadshow with my treasure that is appraised for $750,000 and beaming when they ask how much I paid for it. My answer would be that the asking price was $1.00 but since it was near the end of the sale, I got for for 50 cents. So...I'm hoping to get out in this insane heat and do some garage sales in the morning.

Then, tomorrow afternoon, we will keep our little darlings while their mommy and daddy go out to buy appliances for the house they just bought. By the end of the evening, Nana and Pop-Pop will be fall in bed, completely exhausted.

So.....hope all is well in your corner of the world and that you have a wonderful weekend.

I would also like to wish all the great guys on our MB a wonderfully HAPPY FATHER's DAY!!!

Hey Ladies - I am jealous. It is only going to be 68 degrees today and rainy. I do NOT like the rain which is not good considering where I live. But on the flip side today IS Friday and I am on vacation next week! No big plans just going to spend time with my kids. Well off to work I go!

Five hours in the emergency room, cauterized twice, finally packed and ballooned, I think I know how it feels to give birth, through your nose. LOL, Dam this hurts. Platelet count is up and good but white cells are plummeting. I'm startin to think this stayin alive is gonna kill me, LOL

Sugarbear is getting her cortisone shot as I write. Hopes she's doing okay. Got 2 hrs of sleep last night, brings me to about 3 hours in the last 45 hrs. Life is good, I love my GOD. Honestly.

P.S. Trivia: what southern state is known as the sunshine state or the badger state?

Nope, not Florida, it's South Dakota. Gotcha!!

We had a loud and stormy night last night and it looks like we might have another one tonight. Donny it sounds like you have had a rough couple of days,I hope things get better. Judy you want to be careful with those mixups. Last time i had one I got my viagra and rogaine mixed up. I ended up with a hard head and a fuzzy litle pecker. My wife told me I couldnt keep the baby guinea pig.

TOO funny Mike!!!

And Donny - it sounds like you have been through the ringer this week - I hope that you are now on the up side of things.

It is another - you guessed it - rainy day today! Not quite as bad, because it is warmer out at least, but still not beach weather. I got up early (for me) and headed over to church to help fold the bulletins then went with a friend to one of my favorite stores - it is called Recycled Furniture - it is like a big garage sale. You never know what you will find, a whole store of people's old junk - you would love it Ann!

Now I have to get back to painting - I am painting all the trim in the house - a big job that seems endless!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Well it sound like most of us are not having fun today. Janet, they have a furniture place something like that near where my son lives in Orlando. I haven't gotten to it yet. I wouldn't want to pay for going by painting the house though lol. Mike that is the funniest mix-up I ever heard. And I bet that baby is adorable. Is it your guinea pigs baby? Heidi, enjoy that vacation. A vacation at home can be fun as long as you don't get distracted by work around the house. Ann, if I had it to do over, I might pick Islamorada. Our friends used to stay there and we'd visit them. It's a great little key. Now Donny, it's time for you to catch a break. Five hours in the emergency room does not sound like fun. Wish you could start small--like a decent night's sleep. Ever hear of Ativan. I took it when I had shingles years ago. If I recall correctly, it works well and shingles pain is pretty awful.

Night all. The morning will be crazy so might not get on. Talk to you all soon.

Good news, :D:D:D , I've already gotten about four hours of napping this afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon I get to go back to the E.R. to get the packing removed from my face and hopefully the nosebleed has stopped. I have some Amytriptoline I could take to force the sleep issue but I take so many meds now I couldn't eat another bite. No I just mean the Amy trip really hits me hard, the first time I used it I took one 50 mg. tab of it and slept for 18 hours straight through. When I woke up I thought my bladder was going to explode before I got to the bathroom. Next time I split it down to a 25 mg. and only slept for 13 hrs but still felt like I would explode so I split it down to 12.5 mg. and that got me almost eight hours. But it takes me half a day to wake up from it and begin to function somewhat normal. If I don't get some more sleep tonight then tomorrow I'll take 12.5 again and take a hall pass to LA LA land. I'm very excited about getting this packing removed and being able to breath normal again.

Night all. See ya tomorrow.
