Hi Everyone,

Mom and I made it back from our FABULOUS beach trip in time for the visit with the doc yesterday and I can say that I am glad we did! After the standard pleasantries he said "are you ready for some good news?" (does anyone ever say no to that question?!?!)

Mom’s tumor has shrank from the previous size (4x7cm) to the size of a grape (2x2cm). He used the QUIET word and said "looks like we have it contained". We are all very pleased. He said that she could have a PET (to know if it lights up at all) and possibly need more treatment at this point or she could take the wait and watch approach – and recheck in 3 months. He indicated that there was no anecdotal evidence that either path proved more successful (and I am doing my research here) but she really felt comfortable with the latter.

We do have a follow up with rad onc in a couple weeks and I dont know whether that involves another CT or simply his interpretation of this CT but, if a new one, I am hoping for even more shrinkage.

I really think this is the best news we can hope for. Does anyone have any strong opinions, advice or evidence on the options of add'l tx now or waiting til next scan?

Blessings to you all while I dance a little,

Kimberly

No advice from here, but I would love to join you in some happy dancing. Your mom's scan results sound great. So glad you had a FABOULOUS time on your trip and I am happy for your mom and your family that she returned to hear this wonderful news.

Hugs,

Sue
