Monday's Air

Good morning, everyone!

It was 75 degrees as I rode to work this morning. Forecast high is 90.

I stayed home yesterday and worked on stuff for my business. A friend of Rose's, who's also a breast cancer survivor, came over. I adjusted an old bike of Rose's to fit her, and she and Rose did a short ride around the neighborhood. Looks like we have a new recumbent rider, and Rose has a new riding partner.

Have a great day, all!

Good Evening Everyone,

Weather to-day really dreary, its been raining the whole day,a real feel of Autumn in the air.Sorry for my absence of late, been so busy,I did manage to find some time to put my Edinburgh photos in the site album,a bit disapointed about them being severly cropped in size the following day, must talk to Chris about next batch having a link off site for my photos to click on to see them fully sized?

I took the morning off work to visit Susan at the Glasgow offices of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Org,I had to produce some documents to complete a Disclosure Scotland form,to allow me to become a telephone buddy,in the UK,this starts at the end of the month, for a trial of three months and if successful, will be expanded throughout the UK.The disclosure form is a bit rediculous as I already have enhanced disclosure which is mandatory for my work, but rules are rules.

As a guest speaker at the Lung Cancer Conference in Manchester along with Susan doing a presentation we took the oppertunity to discuss tactics in what to include, the audience apparently have all seen my video which the students filmed for their college website Healthy Working Lives,so I wont be a complete stranger to them, anyway everyone is booked into the same hotel for the previous day,so there will be an occassion to socialise before the event.I am really looking forward to this event.

Hi Bud,good to hear that Rose has decided to take up cycling and has a friend for encouragement, maybe she will enter the Hotter'N'Hell event next year?

Well just going to spend some time reading the boards to see what you all have been getting up to,enjoy the rest of your day.

My oh my!

I just had my 3 minutes of fame - interviewed as one survivor's story on local mid-day news. Hated to see myself on the big screen tv after. I'll let you know if it is posted to their site or elsewhere - we've only got it on DVR. I was publicizing the Free to Breathe Run/Walk in Tacoma this coming Saturday. (Sorry Katie!)

ts, would love to see the video. See if you can find a link on the TV stations web site and share it here.

Eric looks like you are going to have a grand time at the conference. You rock!

Nice Bud that your wife has a partner now. That is very cool.

Gorgeous day here today. Sunny, nice breeze, 73 degrees. Love not having the A/C on. Love hearing the birds outside. The hummingbirds are just crazy this year. We have tons of them around the house, and they are my favorite bird. Love those little guys.

Called the neurologist, explained about how the spasms are worse when I get cold. The first answer I got was "then don't get cold." Smart alecs. They want me to double the dose of meds I'm on again. Not sure I want to do that as the medication makes me a little dizzy, and I'm dizzy enough without it! LOL! But I did insist on being referred to the neuromuscular specialist. There just has to be a reason for this, and I am hoping this next doctor can figure it out.

Hubby is gone for four days to Ohio on business. Just landed a sweet deal today which is going to grow his business in a huge way. Nice for us!

Hi Judy MI,

I am really intregued to read about you having hummingbirds in your garden,it always thought these would only be found in tropical regions,ie Judy's in Key West,I would have guessed Michigan was too far north?do they migrate south for the winter?

Eric,

Ours are gone, I expect, but we had quite a few hummers this year up here in the PNW (Pacific Northwest.) I've also seen them in great numbers in Arizona and California. I think there must be different types in the various climates. They are amazing to watch. I saw them at rest this year which was a first for me.

Yes Eric, those amazing little birds migrate south for the winter, as do a lot of species we have up here. This is the time of year when we'll see them start to "flock". What that means is they begin to form huge bands of birds that become like family and they flock south together as there is safety in numbers. Amazing to see.
