Teresa Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 Please, can anyone help with these questions, My Mother had a chemo treatment 1.5 weeks ago, (Camptosar - Taxotere) I can understand the fatigue.. But she has server abdominal pains and now her ankles are swelling, and no appetite. I have encourgaged her strongly to call her onc, she says shes going to be fine, its from the chemo. Any help anyone? Quote
MO_Sugar Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 I would strongly suggest she seek medical advice as soon as possible. I know everyone is different in the side effects from chemo but swelling is not a good sign. God Bless, MO Quote
Pam Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 My dad had swelling of the ankles and legs - it was from the steroids they had him on....you should tell the onc as soon as possible. Quote
Fay A. Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 Swelling is one of the side effects from Taxotere, but it is one that is supposed to be reported to the Oncologist ASAP. Severe abdominal pain should be reported as well, and sooner rather than later. Quote
Teresa Posted January 19, 2004 Author Posted January 19, 2004 Thanks everyone for your replies and concerns, I was able to convince my mother to call her onc today, I suspect it is just side effects from the chemo but I'm just a concerned daughter that worrys so much. Quote
