I "met" Connie through ALCASE. She was assigned as my "email buddy" shortly after my diagnosis and first surgery back in 2001. Connie is my "Lung Cancer Hero" and my "Lung Cancer Mentor". We may have had our disagreements about some things in the past, but we have set those aside, as we both realize that we are in this battle together and are working for the same outcome - AWARENESS and RESEARCH. I have the greatest respect for Connie as she has fought the big fight on many occassions, and she is still here with us. Next to my wife, daughter, and sister, I place Connie next on the list of those people who are important in my life. Some day we get to meet each other face to face. When that happens, I will have a box of tissues handy.
