Elaine
This may seem like a dumb question but--does a person have to live near a location of where a trial is being conducted-- or if not would the person have to travel to that location frequently? Thanks
ginnyde
Elaine, I do know that our dear friend Ada travelled to Tennessee for her trial. I believe that trials are only conducted at certain hospitals, due to the tight reporting etc. Ginny
john
It depends on the trial. Some trials require radiation like my mom's. She traveled about an hour every day for 5 weeks to get her treatment. From then on she received a vaccine once a month. So ... you don't have to be near the trial but it does make it easier. And for trials that require treatment 5 days a week or more for a few weeks it may obviously make more sense to get an extended stay hotel or find a free resource. BTW ... there are organizations that provide free transportation to clinical trials Take care
