She already has a appointment with an Oncologist Monday. Sorry if the question has been asked and answered before but I am not very computer savvy. Thanks Robert. Rower Michelle Posted October 24, 2019 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Hi Robert, These are good questions. The pulmonologist will confirm the scan and order the biopsy which is typically CT guided. Once the initial biopsy comes back from pathology, the PET scan is next. The pulmonologist will only do a preliminary diagnosis, the oncologist determines the specific sub-type of lung cancer.
