Poem for those missing loved ones

I received this poem from a friend. I hope it helps you find comfort.

I'm Free....

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call,

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.

I found that peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

Ah yes, those things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full I savored much.

Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now He set me free.

Warm wishes to all,

Bridget

The Poem I'm Free is the one I selected for the memorial cards for my hubby who passed away March 19, 2004. It is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read. My Nicky was only 47 when he died from this horrible disease and life will never be the same. However, I am so thankful for the almost 25 years we had together and will treausure those memories the rest of my life. It just hurts too much right now to think about them too much.

Yvonne,

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I know the pain is still so raw. This is a horrible disease that takes our loved ones too young. I am sending warm thoughts your way.

best wishes,

Bridget
