  1. Found out I have four new brain mets. Will start Monday on 30 days of WBR as a result. Also found out there is cancer growth in my left lung. They will not treat that until the WBR is finished. Have started taking temodar for the brain stuff. Was quite disappointed to have these test results. But our hope is in God not this world. "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed;perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." II Corinthians 4:8. This is a new challenge for us. We are enjoying our grandson and have two more grankids on the way later this summer. Blessings continue to fill our lives and we have much to be thankful for. I can only say God is gracious and generous to us in all things. Our joy is in the Lord. pammie

  3. The funeral home people sound cold and calloused. Would her family mind if you had a small memorial service in your home, church or community center so friends and family could give eulogies? My uncle had a memorial service for his wife about a month after her funeral. It was a healing experience for all who went. The funeral was more of a greiving time while, the memorial service emphasized the joy and service in her life. You sound like a lovely and wonderful friend. praying for you. pammie

  4. Bless your heart Kim. I can understand you having cynical feelings and bitterness. So many people in the world think only of themselves or their own comfort, convenience or pleasure. Compassion and sensitivity for emotional pain and loss is hard to deal with. People often go into denial. It is okay and natural for you to hurt. One thing that is very helpful for me when my emotions get roiled up is exercise. Walking briskly is great. I used to do water aerobics and that was wonderful. Exercise helps release some good endorphins into the body. praying for you and your kiddos.

  5. This is a great forum and am sorry you found out through your wife's cancer. No one has the answers for why lung cancer hits some of us that do lead healthy life styles. For that matter the docs don't know why other diseases and cancer strike down the people they do.There are all kinds of supplements to research and decide if they are worth taking. What helps one may not help another. Keep your spirits up and always hope. Will be praying for you and your wife. pammie
