  1. i am taking 3 mg of decadron a day for brain met radiation. I feel that I have some hearing loss but not sure when it began. Might have been back after the chemo sessions 2 yrs ago. Hearing loss is not an uncommon side effect of cancer treatments. praying for your family. pammie

  2. Don, thank you so much for continuing to post, You are deeply appreciated and I think of you and Lucy as an example to fight this disease. Trans Siberian music CDs are one of our favorite Christmas presentations. Your daughter is a sweetie. continuing in prayer for you. pammie

  3. So glad Rochelle that you continue to post on this forum. So many can identify with what you are going through. As someone suggested it would be a blessing for you to be able to talk with or counsel with someone. Know your brothers are hurting too. Maybe as a family you could talk with a minister or priest about some of your worries. Will be praying for all of you. pammie

  4. I too like Dr. West's common sense responses. Swelling in the brain appears to be one of the biggest problems to deal with, thus the steroids. Am working on getting off steroids for my fourth brain met. My daughter is 28 also and I want to be around for her and the other kids and grand children for quite some time, Forget the numbers and fight this with your mom. Your support will be priceless for her. God bless you and family. prayers for you all. pammie

  5. Get a tag. I have one and had to get a form filled out from a doc first but the MVD was very cooperative. You can get the kind that hangs from the mirror or a license plate. Either is so helpful for days of not feeling well. If you feel well park and walk.praying you will have healing. pammie

  6. We have a friend who has cancer in his brain, not mets. They put some chemo wafers in the area to inhibit cell growth. He is going to Duke University for their trial program. They seem to have several options for treatment there. Praying for you Joanie. pammie

  7. Had my fourth brain tumor in a year zappped last Friday. Doing well at this point. The group of oncs we see discuss case by case. My main onc is interested in me doing WBR but the others have not wanted to do that yet. The neurosurgeon said if there was a "flurry of activity" we might consider it. I asked him to define flurry of activity. He said four mets popping up in a short amount of time. It apppears people seem to tolerate gamma and cyberknife quite well if the swelling and necrosis can be controlled. Lubbbock is getting a gammma knife installed this month (Dec) so we are very excited about that development. Seems we are so very very blessed in this country. We don't have to wait for months for treatment, testing or surgery. We all have struggles in this world but the blessings from God are too many to count. pammie

  8. They did the SRT on the new tumor yesterday afternoon. Came home before noon today. Always thankful to be home.Praying the necrosis and edema will not develop as much as last time. This is such a pleasant time of year. So much to be thankful for with the blessings of family and friends. God is the source of all good things. Praying that each of you will have wonderful Christmas blessings. pammie

  9. Am having my fourth brain tumor radiated Friday. Neuro said if they zap it while small maybe there will be less edema and necrosis. Know God's mighty hand is on all of us. Thankful for quick action instead of feet dragging like in Canada. We are very blessed. Praying for your mom. pammie

  10. Thank you Kasey for your eloquent and heartfelt expresssions of Thanksgiving. My first thoughts are to Thank God for life each day. His blesssings are abundant amd too many to count. We found out this Thanksgiving that a second grandchild is expected next year so were thrilled beyond words. Life is Good. Cancer makes you apppreciate the people and interactions in life. Deeply apppreciate all the time and work you do on this site. Another blessing for us to enjoy. God bless you abundantly and richly. pammie
