  1. Cajun Pregnancy

Way down in Louisiana, Boudreaux's old lady had been pregnant for some

time and now the time had come. So he brought her to the doctor and the

doctor began to deliver the baby. She had a little boy and the doctor

looked over at Boudreaux and said, "Hey, Boudreaux! You just had

    you-self a son! Ain't dat grand!"

Boudreaux got excited by this, but just then the doctor spoke up and

said, "Hold on! We ain't finished yet!" The doctor then delivered a

little girl. He said, "Hey, Boudreaux! You got you-self a daughter!

She a pretty lil ting, too."

Boudreaux got kind of puzzled by this and then the doctor said, "Hold

on, we still ain't got done yet!" The doctor then delivered another

boy and said, "Boudreaux, you just had you-self another boy!"

When Boudreaux and his wife went home with their three children, he

sat down with his wife and said, "Mama, you remember dat night what we run

out of Vaseline and we had to use dat dere tree-in-one Oil?"

His wife said, "Yeah, I do!"

Boudreaux said, "Man, it's a dang good ting we didn't use no WD-fourty."

  3. Kelley,

Sorry to hear your Mom isn't doing well. I had the PE drained and got almost immediate relief from the SOB. That was a year and a half ago and it hasn't come back to any extent thus far. Each CT shows it being there, sometimes a little less and at times a slight increase.

If it does come back, there are a couple options to relieve it. One is to insert some sort of a drain in there so you can drain it yourself. I think TANN had that one and there is another where they spray talcum around the lung in an attempt to have the lung fuse to the Pleural wall. Not sure of successes there. Might try asking the Experts. Good luck and God Bless.

  4. Sue,

Prayers for Mike. I think I know how he feels. Sounds awfully familiar to the way I feel. When you think about it Sue, we sure have had a lot of poison crap dumped into our systems and it just takes time to get the crap out. I feel for him and know just how hopeless it feels at times but we gotta have hope that our immune system will take over. He is really fortunate to have someone so caring as you. God Bless you both. Git R Done.

  5. Had no idea this was going to be sooooooo hard. Having a super hard time getting this paracalcitrol and gemcitabine out of my system. Doc put me back on Decadron, only 4-8 Mg per day but can't seem to shake the side effects. Wed Doc advised me to get my whiney butt back to Roswell Park for a quick look/see. She was concerned about pneumonia or some sort of restriction in the esophagus causing severe acid reflux, vomiting and general feeling of extrene fatigue, nausea and just butt whipping sick. Xrays looked good, significant improvement in activity and pleural effusion reduction. She cut the Decadron in half and prescribed a stronger acid reflux medication, nexium. Got back last night and things seem to be a little better today. Lost 21 pounds in two weeks, but appear to be gaining a little back slowly but surely. She mentioned striking a balance in the adrenal gland output of hormones as the biggest challenge. New to me, but not surprising.

Guess it's time to get out of the pity mode and get my butt over to the Pub for a libation. Good nights sleep might help a little too. Soooo, onward and upward for this old codger. Hang in there all you guys. We gonna put a whuppin on this bugger yet. Git R Done.

God Bless ya , one and all.

  6. Terri,

Plenty of prayers left my friend. All wrapped up ino one big package, it sounds scary. I think mine looks very similiar to yours, but I have just been going with how I feel.

I think you're lucky to be so near to MD Anderson. If anyone can get to the bottom of it, they can. I think and hope and pray that they will take the whole thing apart and address each separately which I doubt will be so scary. I pray for that.

In the meantime, chin up as usual and keep the faith. Been worried about you. God Bless.

  7. Lori,

How much confidence do you have in the hospital she is being taken care of? Is it a National Cancer Institute Hospital or one recognized and recommended by them? I personally would seek the opinion of a surgeon that does nothing but treat and operate on Cancer Patients. It's a big decision and deserves the very best. Just my view. God Bless in any decision you make.

  8. Pat,

God Bless you and may he Bless Brians Soul. What a warrior. Although I didn't know him personally, I am honored to have witnessed his bravery and love for his family. My prayers are with you and your family.

    Sincerely,

  9. Happy New Year to all you fabulous friends on this site. I sincerely hope and pray that 2006 brings lots of "stables, NED's, Nerd's and most of all "CURES". One thing I am sure of is that it will bring undying support, friendship and sympathy (butt kicking also when necessary). I certainly am proud to be a part of this site and am forever indebted to all of you.

    God Bless, One and All

  10. Had a horrible week last week after second cycle of Paricalcitol and Gemcitabine. Called Clinical Trial Administrator and ONDOC Thursday for help in managing side effects. Doc put me back on Decadron and Zorfam that got me through Christmas, but wasn't doing the job. Acid reflux and nausea bad Mon and Today. Doc called today and pulled the plug on the Clinical Trail. She thought we were losing ground faster than gaining, Scheduled a CT Scan in three weeks to see where we are. She wants to look again after this poison gets out of the system. Hope it clears out soon so we can get back to the fight.

I really had some weird side effects that I hadn't heard of or experienced before. Had terrible night mares almost to the point of being delirious. Woke up twice sleepwalking, once outside. Didn't take long to wake me up from that one at 10 degrees and me in Jammies. Funny now but not at the time.

Feeling pretty good now. Can't keep much down but the Ensure and Ice Cream is keeping me going. Hope all is well with all of you. Been keeping up as much as possible. Praying for Brian, Mike and Addie and all the rest. Keep you advised. God Bless.
