I used to make jewelry...and still do if I have time, but with the the two kids, and all those little pieces, it is a tough sell!

Rob,
Thank you for your uplifting post. We all need these, and there are so many people who visit, who never post, but who need at least one success story to hang their hat on, and make their own. If one person can do it...so can others.
Blessings to you...congrats on the remission...and I am so glad you are joining us...but wish you never had to go through all I am sure you have.
Blessings,
Jen

My neighbor's sister was recently diagnosed, and it was staged at NSCLC Stage II. First of all...what does this mean?
She told me that there was lymph node involvement in 2 of the nodes, and that they did surgery to remove 1/4 or 1/2????? of one of the lungs.
This is the part I don't understand, and I hope someone can explain it...
She is opting not to have chemo because right now they "have it 50/50. If they do chemo it only gives another 4%." I think this is what I heard and I don't know what that means....in the SCLC world, chemo is VITAL...is it not that way for NSCLC?
Thanks guys...you are the best.

Fantastic news! Great deal!

I agree...don't be afraid to look into another doc. i can say that while dad had mild headaches (and he is a tough old bird) he never had anything unbearable.
I, on the other hand, am an advocate for PCI, as SCLC is so microscopic that there is no way they could know it was somewhere until it grew big enough to see and then in that case, it because a treatment issue in a different way.
I support you no matter what you decide, so know I am here for you!

Grrrrrr....take a look at Don (from Texas') post in My Story...I think he had something similar to this and is now 5 years out of remission...and we all know what that magical 5 year mark means...CURED!
Stay strong and have hope!

Linda,
I am so sorry about the stress you all have. Cancer is unfair in that it does that...changes our lives.
Please know you have come to a wonderful place, filled with hope, peace, and information. Keep us in the loop, and may you know God's healing grace.

Oh, how I know how you are feeling. It is so fearful...Cancer causes us to be fearful...as it robs us of what we know, what we love, and what we hold so dear...some-of-which is the normalcy of our lives.
May you know God's peace...

Oh Carrie...your words are so real, your feelings so raw, so believable, so exactly what so many are feeling. May you continue to know God's grace, God's peace, and God's warm hand.
As I always say, if there is anything I can do...please don't hesitate to ask. I am here for you.

You of course have my prayers....I would say this...if it doesn't go well, and you don't feel like you want to throw in the towel...get other opinions. If he feels good enough to try treatments, he should be allowed to...know what I mean!
Blessings and of course my prayers.

Boy,
I don't know what to say about the insurance...I am sure that someone here will have some advice.
Please know we are here for you. Stay strong, and be sure you check into anti-depressants for mom...I used to be against them, but I do believe they helped my dad get through this. The world is rocked, and if a little pill will make it more bearable and give back some spirit, don't be afraid. PM me if you have any more specific questions about it!

Hmmm...My dad had this...I think????
It wasn't bad...he got a bad "sunburn" and had to worry about pneumonia during that time, but in general, it went well.
Stay strong!
