  1. Hi Linda and welcome to our close family. I was given one year 32 months ago. I am still working full time, fishing as often as I can and truly enjoying my new normal life. As you can see from my profile below, I have had a few Chemo treatments and as others have said..."it ain't all that bad" I have never missed a day of work due to chemo side effects. We are all different and your husband may respond differently, but I would urge him to reconsider, talk with his ONC and "NOT GIVE UP". There is lot of live yet to be lived..."One day at a time".

The early weeks following diagnosis are by far the roughest and scariest and then it does get easier...believe me.

Please keep us informed and we will be here for you and your husband.

  2. He must like me too Rich. My story is a carbon copy of yours....I am approaching 36 months and consider myself a lucky man. I can honestly state that my time following Dx has been some of the happiest of my life.

Thank you for putting into words our feelings.

  3. Jen,

My mom had one when first diagnosed. Just as the previous posts reported- She left with a band-aid. I held her hand and watched. The key, the onc said, was lots of local, she felt nothing. He basically made a tiny incision in mom's lower back and removed a tiny sample in a glass looking thin straw. We talked right thru it and then went out to lunch. Nancy

  4. Glad to hear about your Dad's great response to chemo so far. I only work part-time so I didn't have quite the pressures that you face. I did lots of 5 am drives to my mom's out of state just to take her to her onc, have lunch, and drive 2 hrs home. Don't remember how I did it. You just go. It all seems so long ago, yet just like yesterday. Hope your Dad continues to sail thru chemo.

    Nancy
