I had essentially ZERO Esophagus problems, so not everyone has severe pain. The only thing that really hurt to swallow was dry bread.

I lost my taste several times but never for an extended period of time. I kept eating and finding foods that had a hint of taste, such as Wendy's Chili with their hot sauce, vanilla shakes, chicken fingers with hot honey mustard. All I can suggest is to try different foods and textures, don't just stay with the old home cooked meals, which don't appear to be working...Make a game out of it, go out and try different snacks/entres...he must eat.

I can say, there have been few times that my faith has been tested, and this is one of them. Love and prayers to my dear friend, Lib.

I have not missed a day of work due to Chemo/radiation in 2 1/2 years. That is not a brag, I needed to work.....it gave my mind a chance to concentrate on things other than cancer. If she wants to work (truely) then I say go for it, it really helps occupy your mind and takes it off your problems.....But working is not for everyone

Quote "Sorry this is so ridiculously long. I'm too confused to edit properly!"
DO NOT ever feel compelled to cut it short, share and tell us as much as you want or need.
Merry Xmas

I absolutely detest shopping...the driving....the crowds.....this store doesn't have it....will the other one???
MY wife gives me a big list of what she would like, that list contains:
The Item Name
What store has it
What aisle it is on
What shelve it is on
The Color
The cost
Once I have all this data I go and finsish in one morning.
Not entirely true but darn close!!!

CT's are about all we have at this time. If it eases your mind go for it....all of my scans have with no contrast. Even with the needle it is no worse than drawing blood.

My advice...slow down and don't lose what you have gained. Your body needs time...don't try to be a hero. It'll come, just buld up to it gradually.

You may be right

Some days I get up and feel like I've been beaten with a 2X4.....everything hurts and nothing works. I do not feel it is related to chemo, just old age.

Ya never know, I have had a ton of different Chemos and have had very little problems with any of them, Usually I have a couple of days when I don't feel real good, but that passes quickly...so think positive.
