Lost my Mom
in GRIEF
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. What a fighter she was -- she certainly had a will to live. My sincere condolences.

As you now know, 50 is not so old. Here's to the next 30 or 40 years!
Have a wonderful birthday.

Glad you're dad has a treatment plan even if the plan is "wait and see". Having followed BAC for a long time (my dad had BAC with Adeno too), this seems like a very good plan. You want to save the "big guns" for whenever they may be needed. As you probably know, there are some on the BAC list, who've never had treatment. I hope your dad is one of them.

My father lived almost 6 years after diagnosis. He saw his younger daughter and first grandchild get married and he got to London, Paris and Rome. He also was able to live independently and take complete care of himself right up to the last two months -- cooked, shopped, enjoyed Starbucks visits, his Netflix... In the end, he really fought dying. He did not want to "go". Was it worth the treatments to my Dad? Yes, without a doubt.

YES!!! Our municipality only allows us to put out 2 gabage cans a week. When all the kids were home, there were 6 of us. Had to recycle or??? We recycle paper, newspaper, cardboard, soup cans... Also teach an environment unit in school and focus on the 3 R's so I'd better practice what I preach.

Sorry to hear about that sleeping bladder and all the discomfort you're having to go through. You take care of yourself and perhaps not too many Bud Lites until the bladder wakes up and then the celebration will begin.

Andrea,
I left my home to care for my father on June 22. Then my Dad passsed 6 weeks later on Aug. 1st. I also had to put down my dog (whom I very dearly loved) just 2 weeks ago. I have been totally exhausted and I mean that, more tired than I've been in my whole life. I often have difficulty sleeping and on the few occasions where I do get a good night's sleep, I'm still very tired. I keep thinking I should go back to my fitness center to try to get into shape again and have more energy but I'm simply too tired to do so.
Take care of yourself Andrea. You have a lot on your plate right now and need any and all "treats' you can give yourself.

Kasey--
Congrats on your 2 years of survivorship. We understand the significance of that accomplishment.
As you know, this is a very special place, full of special people who share a special bond. Many will never understand but we always will and will be here for you just as you will be here for us.
Glad to have you back.
