  2. Connie - I do believe your mom is still in your life every day and the perfect proof of that is your beautiful grandaugher. I do not believe it was a coincidence that she was born on the anniversary of her great-grandmothers death... My thoughts are with you on this anniversary of the passing of your Mom. Love, Sharon

    A Downer of a Weekend

Hey Dave, Its upsetting to hear you being so down, but YOU ARE ENTITLED.... and I won't take that away from you. I agree with the others that you need to stay very hydrated.... Just a thought for whatever its worth.... My dad was taking NONI juice the whole time on Chemo and NEVER got sick, tired, fatigued NOTHING....have no idea if the Noni helped but it may be worth a shot.... love, sharon

    My first chemo

Hi Jay - Glad your first Chemo is over with.... I would imagine the first one is the hardest because you are not sure how your body will react to it.... I don't know what type of Chemo you are on, but my Dad was on Gemzar, Cabrolplatin and Taxol and had no reaction to any of them... he felt great the entire time throught treatment, but did lose his hair... but hey, bald is in right???? Now, here is my opinion on your therapist.... if you really want a woman and you are not comfortable with this man... don't wait another few sessions.... insist on a change - no one can know what you need better than YOU DO! As far as Dad is concerned, I tend to think that he is not distancing himself consciously... I think it is his way of dealing with all the pain he has been through - and subconciously, he needs time to absorb all that has happened in his life... I know that does not help you right now, but try to be alittle patient with him... give him another couple of weeks and then if things don't seem better I would address the problem with him. Maybe it would be a good idea if he would go to a therapy session with you. It would really be a help to you both - In the meantime, you have all of us here pulling for you, praying for you, and thinking of you... I know it can't replace Mom, but we will do our very best... Chin up my friend.... You are our hero.... Love, Sharon
  6. Prayer for a spic and span clean scan!!! As far as the vein trouble goes, some people have veins that are incredibly hard to find and it is not related to cancer, just the bodies make up. My fourteen year old son has veins that are just NOT VISABLE and everytime he has to have any blood work done it is a MAJOR ordeal.... One tech suggested that if you drink lots of fluid before a blood test, it helps to keep the body "super hydrated" and sometimes makes the veins easier to find. Let us know when you hear your good news.... love, Sharon

I am counting on all your support. Thanks guys... your the BEST. Love, Sharon

  13. Hi all... I haven't been on here in a while... in full wedding mode around here... As you may remember, I was really stressing about my dads health for my daughters wedding... Well here it is June 26 and the wedding is July 25th and he is DOING GREAT!! I am sure all your thoughts and prayers contribute to his well-being, I know that for myself, just knowing you are all here whenever I need you is a great comfort to me. Will post a picture of the festivities... Dad goes for a CT scan and blood work right after the wedding... so I am hoping for the best - he feels good, he looks good so right now I can't ask for more than that - (well, I could, but that would be selfish right???)... Thoughts and love to you all... Sharon ps. don't know what happened to my picture on here... it dissapeared???

  17. Dave - Haven't been checking the posts in a while - and when I signed on this morning you were the first person I wanted to check on - Sorry to hear about the Stage IV - but as we all know - its just a number and faith, hope and positve attitudes can overcome anything... My thoughts are with you... Love Sharon
  18. Thanks Connie... I guess you are right, the time to worry is when they offer no options... It will just take me a few days to adjust to this news and then - FIGHT WE WILL!!! Sharon
  19. Today I took Dad for his 3month check-up( you all know the one, where we hold our breath till its over) anyway... He hasn't had chemo since July 2001, everything has been "stable". This last MRI showed another little area of Bone Mets near his hip (he already has one met there). His lung lesions look about the same... Doctor is gonna start him on Aredia tomorrow for his bone. And Radiation treatment (first time he is ever having that). He says he is does not need more chemo at this point, and that his cancer is a very slow-growing type so they will just continue to monitor closely. I was getting use to going to these 3 month checkups and having them say "everything looks great, see you in another 3 months" I am very upset tonight - Trying to stay positive - need some inspiration from you guys... Love, Sharon
  20. Tami - My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time... she is never far away.... Sharon
