  1. Hi Dianne,

Your news about the progression of your mom's cancer saddened me, but your attitude of not throwing in the towel heartened me. I'll be praying for the best results possible with the brain rads. Hang in there and keep us posted. We care.

  2. Sara-

I'm glad you found this site and that the wonderful people on here can help you and your dear husband through this frightening experience. It's amazing to me how many younger people are being affected by this blasted disease. Welcome, and please visit often to chat, share information, vent, relate good news, etc.

  3. Dear Sandy-

You've suffered the debilitating loss of your beloved, young husband. Life is wonderful, fragile, and precious, yet seems unbearable at times like this. May God grant you and your family strength and grace.

  4. Dave G.,

Thanks for the article. Even though it identifies LC as the number one culprit, for me the following paragraph was very telling about which rung of the ladder Lung Cancer is still on:

The cancer society also stresses early detection through screening for breast, colon, rectal, prostate and uterine cancer. And it recommends cancer-related checkups that can detect thyroid, oral, skin lymph node, testicular and ovarian cancers.

Nary a word about screening for lung cancer . As a non-smoker with cancer, I'm not going to be satisfied with simply getting people to stop smoking. I know it is ONE of the vital objectives, but it's not enough in and of itself. I want early help for EVERYONE who might get this disease, and we can't tell by the exteriors or even by lifestyles, can we?

  5. Dear Howard,

If you are really interested in "Alternative Therapies", be sure to look at all the postings under that heading on the main page. For example, Cary has posted some interesting web-site information for Copper Reduction.

    See:

    •Alternative Therapies

    •Copper Reduction Update

    •Cary

In his last email to me, Cary's dad was doing very well on a chemo regimen coupled with copper reduction therapy, under his doctors' supervision.

Praying for your wife and family.

  6. Dear Connie,

I'm glad if the Message Board is helping you cope, but know how anxious you will be this coming week until you get more information on Monday. Try to keep busy and take good care of one another each day. Sending "Rah-Rah's" and prayers your way for Tom and family.

  7. Dear Howard, wife and family,

How dreadful that you need to join our board, but there is a lot of love and support to be had here that may help you make it through upcoming trials...even if it is just a place to openly confess your feelings...we've all been there.

I'm sorry I don't have advice on the specifics of chemo, but I try to eat lots of vegies and fruit, and drink lots of purified water every day. I also take Flax Seed oil, Coenzyme Q-10, coral calcium, and Selenium in addition to a good multiple vitamin every day. I've also been taking the 2 Tbs. Noni juice (high-quality Morinda type) daily. Does any of this stuff HELP? Who knows???? But I've researched and have tried to make sure that none of it will HURT me in the amounts I am taking. I also make SURE to tell my oncologist about all the supplements I am taking and keep her updated if I make any changes.

You and yours will be in my prayers.

  8. Behappy,

You've got a great start on the problem as evidenced by your choice of name! It's wonderful!

I have to confess that I was in a kind of miserable "fog" and totally scared to death when I was first diagnosed. I just existed from day-to-day until my surgery. After surgery I had a Survivor's Epiphany and realized how fragile and temporary life is for EVERYONE. I determined to give God thanks for every single day and then go out and appreciate it and help others enjoy it too, if I could. In my case, time helped...time to suffer, time to grieve, time to recover, time to come to some kind of grips with this rotten disease, time to discover it has provided some positives in my life such as not sweating the small stuff and making marvelous connections with neat people here on this message board, and time to look forward. I pray you also receive the blessing of time sufficient to meet your needs.

  9. Don,

It is certainly evident that an "old dog" can continue to learn about deepening love. Your posts about you and your wife always warm my heart and renew my faith in "man"kind ( ). I hope Lucie is feeling more comfortable and that her appetite has improved.

    Fondest Regards.
