  1. Hi Paulette, nice to meet you and like everyone else sorry you have to be here. I too am an early detection lucky one, but like everyone says each case is individual and with all of the advances in treatment anymore this is definitely not the huge monster that I saw the first time it was mentioned to me. Keep us posted and keep your head up whatever you do. This is a great place for lots of great information and support. Laugh all you can, it seems to help our lungs and spirits heal. Donny
  2. There were three blond guys stranded on an island. One day on the beach they found an old bottle. One picked it up and out popped a genie. She said I will grant each of you one wish for freeing me. The first said I'd like to be an olympic class swimmer, poof, he was transformed and took off swimming to be rescued. The second said I'd like to be a top notch carpenter, poof, he was transformed and built a boat and set off in his boat to be rescued. The third said I'd like to be a woman, poof, he was transformed and she walked across the bridge.... LOL
  3. I try to live my life with my head so far in the sand that I can't know anything that will hurt someone else. I could sing all day and never say anything that might help anyone. I guess I just like to mind my own business. Tradition ten say I have no opinion on outside issues. Donny
  4. Oh my Caren, I went through a period of this after surgery and my doc told me it was akin to jungle rot from inactivity and recommended just an over the counter cream like Tinactin. Mine took a couple months to clear up completely. It also burned like crazy to wash it but I had to do it and I used a liquid soap for sensitive skin like Dove. Like I said it burned like crazy but I had to be diligent about it to get it to clear up. Best of luck Caren. Donny

    Pneumonitis?

Hi Connie, thanks for responding, I've been on prednisone for 3 weeks at 30 mg. now 20 mg. till tomorrow, then 10 and on down. I've done a course of Azithromycin, then a course of Augmentin 875 twice a day for ten days, also Claritin D plus Robitussin DM and Flonase to try to dry out the sinus drip. Heck I don't know what more I can take with all this but any suggestion is well taken and appreciated. Thanks Connie. Donny
  6. Caren, I know that any progress is progress. When I was going thru the radiation and chemo my docs had me on Maalox with lidocain to help calm the pain in my throat and also on liquid Lortab to also help with the pain. Best of luck Caren, you have alot of prayers here. Donny

    Pneumonitis?

Hi, I've been dealing with pneumonitis for over 2 months and hve been down several courses of treatment for it and it still just keeps hanging on. I would appreciate any advice from those others who have been through it. Maybe you have something that worked for you that my onc and rad doc haven't tried. Anyway I'd really appreciate any info. Thanks in advance and God loves us all. Donny

  11. I think I'm a good neighbor, I mind my own business, I wave and smile and chat a little thogh I hardly know anyone. Well except my ex-wife who lives a half block away. Her and I and my current wife are good friends. All we needed was the divorce to fix the relationship. LOL

    Heaven

Nice to think about. My thought is that I'll get to meet up with the family and friends I've lost and play guitar with all of my idols and we'll never break strings and our hands won't get sore and it'll just be easy going and mellow. Just heavenly.
  13. 15 months, going along in Wyoming. Thanks all. Donny
  14. I'm "gag-me" sick of the going to digital tv commercials. Feb 17th has passed but the gov. in it's infinite wisdom decided to extend it till June. Guess enough people hadn't complained about the commercials yet. Ahhhhh, rant over. LOL
  15. I am so grateful for the warm welcome and the caring here. No matter how tough or funny or cool I may want to appear this journey still scares the heck out of me. Having such a history of LC in my family and having smoked for 30+ yrs made me sure that this was the end for me. Heck this is just another beginning. TG i got off the ciggys when I did tho. Thanks everyone and I plan to be here. GOD loves you all and so do I. Donny
