ellakc2 Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Hi All! Does anyone know the difference between a nodule and a lesion? Or are they the same thing? I've looked up the definitions of these words, in several locations, and they refer back and forth to one another making it not clear and confusing. Quote
Don M Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I think a lesion is a general term that can be all sorts of growths, but a nodule is a particular kind of growth. A nodule is a lesion, but so is a skin cancer. Don M Quote
Fay A. Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Nodule: http://cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?nodule Lesion: http://cancerweb.ncl.ac.uk/cgi-bin/omd?lesion I think the primary difference is a nodule is usually considered solid. A lesion can be solid, part solid, or non solid. Quote
