beat it
Is there any point? If the docotrs are all co-workers would the second opinion be any different? What does any one know about PDQ/Physicians Data Query? Has anyone had a Doctor use this or have you ever asked them too? Thanks for helping!! ( Yet again!) Beat it!! kamataca
I haven't heard about the PDQ. I know my friend did her second opinion through another source (MD Anderson, as opposed to our local hospital). We were fortunate enough to find someone who 'got it right' the first time. Here's hoping you find what you are looking for. Kelly
Tami
here's my humble opinion.. I had a HMO and was permitted a 2nd opinion.. but it had to be with the same hospital/group. They were part of a tumor board so I felt that it would be an authentic "2nd opinion" but it wasn't.. they really tend to just agree with each other. In my case this was diasterous and I was given the wrong treatment for my case. It wasn't until I moved to a cancer center that I was given accurate information and treatment. I had to fight and fight for a 2nd opinion out of my "area" but in my case it may have saved me. If you can get one I would highly recommend it.. you have nothing to lose by looking for an objective opinion and everything to gain. good luck..
