Dick back in hospital

Upon return to Hawaii, Dick had to go back to the hospital. He can hardly breathe. They thought yesterday it might be pneumonia but today think it might be a virus. Don't know what is worse. His pulse shot up rapidly today when he tried to go to the bathroom. They have him on oxygen, some antibiotics since it still may be pneumonia and have given him strict instruc tions to stay in bed. All we can do now is pray and hope he can lick this. After such good news, we're now facing bad news. The other bad news is that if he can recover from this, they did find one distant lymph node that was positive. The concern is that is was far away from the original tumor site. He's up for 5 radiation treatments and 3 rounds of Chemo. We went from "cancer free" to this. The ups and downs are, as you all know, so hard. Just please pray that he can lick whatever he has to fight further.

Thanks, Cheryl

Cheryl,

Praying for you and your hubby, everyday. Please keep the faith and all will be alright. They have lots of antibiotics to get rid of whatever it is, virus or pneumonia. I just got out of the hospital, was very weak, had pneumonia. They had to try 5 different antibiotics before they could nip it in the bud. How are your hubby's blood counts? I had to have a transfusion, Hemaglobin was at 6, too low should be at least 12. This is what carries oxygen to major organs, if not high enough, it makes you really tired and lethargic. Ask the doctors. Thinking and praying for both of you.

God Bless and praying for a "Cure" for all of us......

Hi Cheryl,

Sorry Dick is back in the hospital. Am wondering if he used his own oxygen tank on the airplane? Maybe this isn't a factor but if it is I read somewhere that if a lc person gets on a plane, they need to supply their own oxygen tank for the oxygen in the cabin of the plane is recycled and anyone having flu or whatever could be bad for the lc patient.

I know the lymph node is now a worry for we are having the same problem. They are going to scan Buddy's thurs and if it show trouble they will do a biopsy.

Will be praying for both of you...

Yesterday was the worst. Dick's oxygen level dropped dramatically as his heart rate went up. They alsmost had to put him on a ventilator. Fortunately, he took a turn for the better during the night and was doing better today. While he is by no means "out of the woods" - today is looking better than yesterday. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Right back attacha!

Aloha, Cheryl
