Bev'sSister Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Beverly's CT scan is clean. She is being measured right now for PCI's. Is this a good sign? I know she should have the PCI's, but would the doctor do this if he didn't think she was going to be ok? This is so scarry to me. I don't know what to expect next. Thanks to all of you who have prayed with us for my sister. PRAYER and FAITH really do help. Please give me any information on PCI's that you may have personal experience with..as far as what to expect. Love, Bobby Quote
Calintay Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 I do not have any experience with PCI's but I just so your posts and first off I am adding your sister to my prayers for the PCI treatments and also great news on clean scan! YaY! Quote
Connie B Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 PCI is very common and is a preventative. It's a low dose of radiation and I know of many small cell patients that have had it and they are all doing fine and none of them are sorry they did it. It's only offered to SCLC patitents at this time. Quote
dscherer Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I did post in a different forum but I wanted you to know that the PCI will go fine. My mom is half way through and it realy has gone very well. The side effects are very small and if it can help with those brain mets then that is great. I can't remember the exact % (and I don't believe in statistics) but it really makes a difference in reoccurence in the brain. While there is no guarantee, I want my mom to do anything that will help!!! I am so happy that things are going well! Prayrers, Dana Quote
dchurchi Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Bobby, Great news about your sister. I can not comment on PCI because Alan already had brain mets, but Alan responded very well to WBR. So lets pray PCI works and WBR will never be needed. Quote
lc46 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Bobby- Great news!!!! I'm so glad you and your sis had a nice vacation. Dar Quote
