carolhg Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Anyone else have this? When I wake up in the mornings I have a cough and sometimes phelgm. I asked my oncologist about this and he said that it was allergies and also the result of my smoking years. After a few minutes it clears up and goes away. It just last for a few minutes in the morning, but it is almost every morning. It makes you wake up worrying about cancer before you can get your day started. Makes me mad. Carol Quote
Don M Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 It could be mucous that does not clear your lung easily because of scar tissue at your surgery site. My pulmonologist once suggested this. He says that sometimes the surfaces of the scar tissue can be concave and act to pool the mucous. Don M Quote
blaze100 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Yes Carol, I have this too especially this time of year...even some crackly noises in the morning. The radiation onc told me radiation burns off the little hairs that move the mucus up and out of the lungs. But it scares me too. BArb Quote
