alyssa0323
When will it stop?? A very good friend of mine just lost her grandfather to cancer a few months ago. I just spoke with her a few minutes ago and now her Godfather has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 2-4 months to live. She is devastated to say the least. I am just so angry that this is happening and wonder when the hell is it going to stop? When will the chances of being cured be far better than the chances of not? When will we stop losing our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wifes, etc... Just sooooo very angry. :0(

KatieB
I feel that way too. I turn my anger into activism and try to advocate for patients and healthcare for patients with cancer and also for research into more treatment options and a cure. When you look at making a dent against cancer- it seems so impossible and so HUGE how or when will it ever stop? We can't possible make a dent in something so huge...It's easy to get discouraged. It helps me to look at the specific progress that we have made, specific funding for specific research models, a smoke-free legislation in a certain state, more money for cancer care in a particular state...heck it even makes me happy seeing awareness campaigns, TV commericals and newsarticles about cancer research/progress and survivors, etc.. All those things are steps...hopefully soon all our steps will begin to make a difference in the huge picture. I'm so sorry your friend is dealing with cancer again right now. It's not right or fair and I wish no one to ever experience that. I will say a prayer for her and her family.
SandraL
Well hopefully it will stop sooner than later. And that can only be accomplished with survivors and family member advocacy. It has to stop...it is just so awful. I am angry along with you. Sandra
Caren
I feel exactly the same way, Alyssa! I lost my father on May 22nd only to be told in middle of June that his only surviving sibling has Terminal Prostate Cancer and only a matter of weeks/months to live. It just seems so unfair!
