Michele
Hello everybody. My husband is having chemo in 2 weeks 3 days in row. 2 nd series with radiation. My question is he is a diabetic and I'm worried I should stay home after his treatments to make sure he eats right since he doesn't normally. I don't know if I should work or not.any inputs. I know everyone handles treatments differently. I just afraid I'll come home and he be on the floor. Don't know what to expect
Denzie
This is something you should call the dr about. He will be given steroids as part of the side effects management and this is something he can't do without. It may take a few infusions before they have an adverse effect but don't chance it. Your dr would rather hear from you before it becomes a problem. Do ask for a referral for an evaluation with the oncology nutritionist. Concurrent chemo and radiation can be quite debilitating and if the amount of time off you're going to have to take is an issue for you, he will need you more then.
