  1. Mac 'n cheese is my very favorite. I can even eat it for breakfast. Seriously, if I have leftover mac 'n cheese, I have been known to eat it cold. I also love banana pudding. I don't make it often, as I never seem to know when to stop eating it.
  2. What is your very favorite comfort food?
  3. TELL ME THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO US !! Three sisters, ages 92, 94 and 96, live in a house together. One night the 96-year-old, Flamingo, draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses. She yells to the other sisters, 'Was I getting in or out of the bath?' The 94-year-old, Jodi, yells back, 'I don't know. I'll come up and see.' She starts up the stairs and pauses 'Was I going up the stairs or down? The 92-year-old, Katclaws, is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters, she shakes her head and says, 'I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood..' She then yells, 'I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door.' 'I CAN HEAR JUST FINE!' Three retirees, each with a hearing loss, were playing golf one fine March day. Kframe remarked to the other, 'Windy, isn't it?' 'No,' Ed replied,'it's Thursday.' And Ron chimed in, 'So am I. Let's have a beer.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The little old lady, Donna, was running up and down the halls in a nursing home. As she walked, she would flip up the hem of her nightgown and say 'Supersex.' She walked up to an elderly man in a wheelchair. Flipping her gown at him, she said, 'Supersex.' He sat silently for a moment or two and finally answered, 'I'll take the soup.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years, they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to meeting a few times a week to play cards. One day, they were playing cards when Sea Shell, looked at the other and said, 'Now don't get mad at me. I know we've been friends for a long time, but I just can't think of your name! I've thought And thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me what your name is.. Her friend (Jen) glared at her for at least three minutes she just stared and glared at her. Finally she (jen) said, 'How soon do you need to know?' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Senior driving... As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife's voice urgently warning him, 'Herman, I just heard on the news that there's a car going the wrong way on Interstate 77. Please be careful!' 'Heck,' said Herman, 'It's not just one car. It's hundreds of them!'
  4. It was 40 when I got in my car this morning to leave for work. I feel guilty complaining, since some of you are so much colder and are covered with snow!!! But, after living in this Florida heat for many years, people just have a really hard time adjusting to these cool temperatures. When I first moved to Florida, I use to laugh when people would say they had been in Florida so long that they had "thin blood." Guess what???? I'm not laughing anymore!!! Tomorrow, we're supposed to get rain all day and then another cold front will be moving in! This year, I really got my money's worth out of the sweaters that I have but never wear! Judy, I know the cold really gets to you, so I'm hoping it warms up really soon. I know you're several degrees warmer than we are, so that helps a little bit. Just hang in there. I hope you enjoy your pot luck dinner. I love pot lucks, as there's always a good variety of great comfort food. Heidi, it sounds like you have a great weekend coming up. Enjoy! Maryanne...hope Joel is all through shoveling for a while so that you can stay all bundled up and have some cuddling time!!! Michelle, don't go crazy over the housework. I'm sure your visitor is going to have eyes for only one thing....your son!!! What do you plan on cooking? I am so tired of cooking the same things. If you have anything exciting, please share! Bud...sorry you had to miss your morning ride but I don't think snow and two wheels would have made for a good ride anyway. Hope it warms up so that you can be riding soon! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, although I have a lot of things I have to get done. Anyway, just knowing that tomorrow is Friday is enough to make me happy. Ann
  5. Love it, Becky Snowflake !!! I can just see the look on the husband's face!!!
  6. Judy is right about the wind here in Florida. My palm trees were bending over this morning from the wind. The high today is supposed to be 64 and tomorrow the high is forecasted for 58. I know that seems like a heat wave to all our northern friends who are suffering through all the snow and freezing temps. This wind is what makes it feel really chilly here. Hopefully, spring will be right around the corner and we will all be nice and comfy! Judy, I know you'll get all of your preliminary tax work together in plenty of time and still have time to enjoy yur family! I have faith in you, gal!!! Bud, I'm so glad you didn't have to ride against the wind this morning and I'm glad to hear the daylight is lasting longer. That's a sign that spring is on its way! Hubby and I are celebrating Valentines a wee bit early by having a "party" with the grandbabies on Saturday night. Son and DIL are going for dinner and then to a Harry Connick, Jr. concert. The babies love Chinese food, so Nana and Pop-Pop are taking them Chinese take out and some sweet treats. We will be dancing to the music of Elmo and Big Bird and having lots of fun! Seriously, we love every minute we spend with our "little people." Going to the medical supply store later this afternoon to pick up the long list of things that hubby will need after his knee replacement. I had no idea there are tools that help you put your socks on!!! Hope everyone has a great day! Keep warm....inside and outside! Ann

    Tuesday's Air

It just started raining here and that means our latest cold front is making its way into town. Our high for tomorrow is supposed to only reach 60 and it's supposed to be in the 30's tomorrow night. They've been warning us to cover our plants tomorrow night but not too many people have to worry as most everything died during out two week cold spell last month. A lot of my plants are brown but I haven't done any pruning in hopes that there is a little green left somewhere on the plant. I guess we're supposed to wait to prune until March because if we cut plants back and then get another freeze, there's no hope for them. I hope everyone is having a great week. I can't believe it's only Tuesday, as it feels as if it should surely be at least Thursday!!! My husband goes into the hospital next Tuesday for a total knee replacement and I'm not looking forward to that!!! Ann

    Marisa

Such very good news, Bruce. Thanks so very much for keeping us updated on her progress.
  9. Judy....so sorry to hear that you didn't have the best of days yerterday but, hey...having wine and cheesecake with someone you love has to be a good thing!!! Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Bud, try and stay dry and bottle up some of that extra energy you have and send it my way. I can't imagine working for three hours in the garage after working all day. My hat's off to you!!! It's a very nice, sunny day here today. It's been rainy and dreary here for a couple of days so it's great to see the sun. OK...gotta get some work done. Hope everyone has a great day!!! Ann

    Who am I now?

So glad to hear that life is beginning to move in the right direction for you, Michelle. I think this new job will be so good for you. Work seems to help take our minds off of our own problems. I have heard so many people comment that they don't know who they used to be. I think this happens to all of us after we go through any life altering event and even as we age. I sometimes try and remember who I was when I was 18 or 20 and I'm not sure that I know. So, finding out who we were and who we are , is something I think most of us have done. I like to think of the butterfly when I think of life changes and transitions. That plain, unattractive cocoon can become the most magnificant butterfly...just by growing and changing. The "old" Michelle will still be there and part of that person will merge with the "new" Michelle and become one heck of a lady!!!
  11. Here I am...creeping in a day late. I hope you had a wonderful birthday, Judy! So sorry I'm late in getting the wishes sent your way! So...tell us about your birthday!!! Ann
  12. Bruce, thank you so much for sharing your updates with us. I will be keeping Marisa in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for being such a very good friend to her and her husband during this time.
  13. WIFE VS. HUSBAND A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?' 'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.' W O R D S A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men... The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?' CREATION A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time. ' The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you! WHO DOES WHAT A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.' The husband said, ' You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.' So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says..........'HEBREWS' The Silent Treatment A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, 'Please wake me at 5:00 AM.' He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.' Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.
  14. Heck with the casino....I'll take Kevin Costner!!! Yes...I want lots of cheese on my burger. No dieting while on this trip!!! Kasey...get those wagon wheels a spinning! Can't wait to see you, fred and the medical staff rolling in! Becky...should we stop at a pharmacy and get something for your allergies? I know all this fur can be a pain. I don't think Roo has a problem with shedding but I know we have golden retrievers that are big time shedders....right, Muriel? Does anyone have a bottle of Captain Morgan? I hear that Captain Morgan and honey, nice and warm, are great for a sore, scratchy throat! I can't wait to get all the rest of you on this bus!! This trip is so much fun!!!
  15. Does anyone know (or care) where we are right now? I think someone is taking pictures on the trip and is going to be doing a LCSC scrapbook. It would be great to know where we are, so they can label the photos. But, as long as my blender is still working and we have booze, fruit and ice....I'm OK wherever we are. You know, Becky sure does know a lot of sing-a-long songs! Funny how they all seem to start with the words "roll me over"....lol Hey Becky Snowflake....you're doing one heck of a job driving this rig!!!
  16. Sorry I missed your big day, Val. But, although this is a day late, it's still a wish packed full of nothing but good things for a super gal!!!
  17. Do you think I'm getting too old to party??? I've been sick for 2 days in a row and have missed you guys. I've been here on the back seat, with my head hung out the window for the past two days!!! But...I'm all better now and ready to party on!!! Who (or should I say "what") are we picking up next ? I have to say that this kangaroo doubles as one heck of a nurse when you're feeling down!!!

    Friday's Air

Judy and Bud, I'm so glad we're all beginning to thaw out a little. I think today is the first day my hands have actually felt warm whle I'm using the keyboard. Bud...glad Rose is feeling better!!! TGIF....in a major sort of way!!! What a week...what a life!!! Does it ever get better??? Time to get back on the bus and party!!!
  19. Did we pass Katie's house or is she finally on the bus. Sorry...I've had this blender on auto pilot, making drinks as fast as I can. Also, I'm sharing my seat with Tanner and Roo and I think they've finally become great friends. Bailey and Teddy are having a wonderful time playing fetch with the beer bottles, as they roll down the aisle. I think everyone is having a blast! Becky is still doing a great job of driving, although I think she may need a relief driver before too many more miles. Any volunteers??? Are we stopping anywhere for a TGIF party tonight? I'm ready!!!
  20. All I have to say today it that it's getting warmer and I'm having a wonderful time on Becky's Big Blue Bus!!! Oh...have to add that tomorrow is FRIDAY....my favorite day of the week!!! I think we'll have to pull the bus over somewhere and have a TGIF party tomorrow.
  21. I have the blender!!! It took me a few minutes to find it...let me explain. While Lynn, Muriel and I were waiting at Animal Kingdom, I really bonded with an adorable kangaroo. I had my beach towel, my Ipod, my blender and Tanner (my golden retriever) all to keep up with. Well, this adorable kangaroo tried to help me out by putting the blender in her pouch. Thank goodness "Roo" decided to get on the bus with us and I finally remembered to look in her pouch for the blender!!! Oh, FYI, "Roo" is going to be great fun on this trip. She has a great sense of humor and if anyone bugs us, she's got one heck of a kick!!! This trip is a blast!!! I think this getaway is exactly what we all needed!!! How many animals do we have on board? No, Randy....party animals don't count. Randy...you're a party animal not an animal animal!!!! I have Tanner and Roo. Becky Snowflake...you are doing a great job of maneuvering this big blue bus! I never knew a bus this big could make such a quick turnaround!!! Let's party......
  22. Great minds think alike.....and apparently at the same time....lol!
  23. I'm on the bus!!!! What a great time this is!!! Muriel...share that bottle!!!
  24. Wow...this bus is getting full quick. If Becky Snowflake has already picked you up, give out a shout !!!
  25. Judy....Muriel, Lynn and I are on the bus now!!! Becky Snowflake is trying to keep us all quiet so that she can concentrate on driving but we're all too excited to be quiet. I think we're on our way to Key West!!!!
