  1. A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still

in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all

around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor.

Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared

over the mirror and walls. As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world did I do today?" "Yes," was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

  2. JESUS AND THE MUD PUDDLE

    A great story..........

Howard County Sheriff Jerry Marr got a disturbing call one Saturday

afternoon a few months ago. His 6-year-old grandson Mikey had been hit by a car while fishing in Greentown with his dad.The father and son were near a bridge by the Kokomo Reservoir when a woman lost control of her car, slid off the bridge and hit Mikey at a rate of about 50 mph. Sheriff Marr had seen the results of accidents like this and feared the worst. When he got to Saint Joseph Hospital, he rushed through the emergency room to find Mikey conscious and in fairly good spirits. "Mikey, what happened?" Sheriff Marr asked.

Mikey replied, "Well, Papaw, I was fishin' with Dad, and some lady

runned me over, I flew into a mud puddle, and broke my fishin' pole and I

didn't get to catch no fish!" As it turned out, the impact propelled Mikey

about 500 feet, over a few trees and an embankment and in the middle of a mud puddle. His only injuries were to his right femur bone which had broken in two places. Mikey had surgery to place pins in his leg. Otherwise the boy is fine. Since all the boy could talk about was that his fishing pole was broken, the Sheriff went out to Wal-mart and bought him a new one while he was in surgery so he could have it when he came out.

The next day the Sheriff sat with Mikey to keep him company in the

hospital. Mikey was enjoying his new fishing pole and talked about when he could go fishing again as he cast into the trash can. When they were alone, Mikey, just as matter-of-factly, said, "Papaw, did you know Jesus is real?" "Well," the Sheriff replied, a little startled."Yes, Jesus is real to all who believe in him and love him in their hearts." "No," said Mikey. "I mean Jesus is REALLY real." "What do you mean?" asked the Sheriff.

"I know he's real 'cause I saw him." said Mikey, still casting into the

trash can. "You did?" said the Sheriff. "Yep," said Mikey. "When that lady runned me over and broke my fishing pole, Jesus caught me in his arms and laid me down in the mud puddle."

  3. I just wanted to tell you that I think you're a very brave and strong person. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. I'll be praying for you all. (((hugs)))

  4. I'm so sorry and I'll be praying for you.

I want to share something with you that my mom's Pastor shared with me after mom's biopsy came back positive. He said a few Sundays ago, everyone was praying around the alters, and He felt the Lord tell him, 'God is still God, regardless of the circumstances', and he felt it very specifially for my mom that day. That helped me so much.

Keep your eyes on Him, no matter what.

    ((hugs))

  5. Betty, thank you!

tnmynatt, thank you for the advice, I didn't know anything about gene therapy for cancer, but I found some info on the net.

Peggy, yes, that does sound logical. We'll get more questions answered on Thursday about all that I guess. I'm getting a bit nervous about that. I know mom is too.

Christina, thanks for telling me about Mrs Mike. I searched for her posts and all I can say is WOW. What an inspiration to us all. Praise God she kept the faith and hope through it all. And yes, CTCA is a WONDERFUL place. We've had nothing but good experiences there. We joke about the food though... It's healthy food... they have a great salad and fruit bar and my dad raves about the pineapple. He picked up something the other day, like a muffin and said, 'do you think those are raisins or chocolate chips?' It was too funny.... we know there's no chocolate there! :) hehe\

edited to add, Christina, love the name, we share it.:)

  6. Thank you soooo much, Karen. It's awesome to have others believing with you!! I've been having this scripture on my mind:

    II Corinthians 4

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

    17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

    God is good.:)

  7. Your poor sister, I'm so sorry. She's in my prayers. I pray she feels the Lord's arms wrapped around her, comforting her in this time of need without mom. :( God bless you both.

  8. I'm praying for you too!!

    Philippians 4:6,7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  9. I'm so sorry your Gram is suffering like this. I'm praying for the Lord to wrap His loving arms around you all and bring comfort and peace as only He can.

(((hugs))) and prayers for you all.

  10. Is anyone currently using them, or maybe you have in the past?

My mom used them almost five years ago upon her initial diagnosis, and will probably begin treatment there again soon. We use the one in Tulsa.

She had a PET that showed a few lit up areas, then a biopsy of a lymph node near her collar bone on thursday, which tested positive for cancer cells. She talks to her lung doctor at the treatment center on Thursday and will get a game plan.

This surgeon that did the biopsy, when he came out and informed us that it was positive for cancer, also said something that is bothersome. He said, 'we'd be naive to believe that the cancer was limited to those areas.' Does the PET not show all cancer areas?

We're just keeping positive and keeping our eyes on God. If we were to dwell on the cancer, it would become bigger than our God, and it's most definitely not.

I thank God for doctors and medicine, but ALL healing comes from the Lord, Jehova Rapha.

Thanks for listening and for your continued prayers!

    Praying for us all!

  11. Reading your post was so beautiful and painful at the same time. I'm so sorry for your hurt. I'm praying for you and your dad. He is giving you beautiful memories to hang on to.

God bless you and keep you.

(prayers for Luke too, I have a little one with asthma as well and know how scary that can be too.)

  12. The surgeon said the biopsy of the lymph node tested positive for cancer cells. The actually biopsy results will be in monday or tuesday and we'll find out more information and get a plan of attack.

we're gonna beat this stupid evil thing. and God will get the glory no matter what.

    thank you for your prayers.

    God is good!
