  1. Karen, I haven't been here in a while and I'm not caught up on the situation, but I do want to tell you that you are doing a fine job, God is with you, when you think you can't go anymore, He'll be there, picking you up, encouraging you. It may be in the littlest things, like a butterfly or a rainbow after a storm... When we think we can't go anymore, we somehow do, with Him, all things are possible.

(((hugs to you and the family))) and prayers too.

  2. You and your family are always in prayers, your mom too. God is good. When we feel we can't go any more, God gets us through, day by day, sometimes hour by hour, minute by minute, always there, guiding and encouraging and holding us close.

take care of YOU too, Karen.

I was reading another post of yours, wish we lived closer and could go do lunch or something. :)

    ((hugs))

  3. When I read this this morning, you were on my heart. I know it's a wonderful one for ALL of us here though! We all MUST keep the faith and hope in Jesus, our healer, our savior, our, comforter. I know you already know these things in this devotion, but it sure helps to have confirmation again and again. :)

    love ya'll,

    Life Can Be Tough

    JOHN 16:33 ICB

33 "I told you these things so that you can have peace in me.

In this world you will have trouble. But be brave! I have

    defeated the world!"

Jesus never promised us that everything would be perfect here

on earth. He recognized that we would encounter trouble. But

His instructions were to be of good cheer -- not to let it get

    us down.

As we encounter difficulties in life, it will help us to

remember the big picture. First, God is our Father and has a

wonderful eternal plan for us. We are His children and He loves

us. Second, this time is but a training period for our future

life with God. We are supposed to be learning to trust God and

    to obey Him.

So, every problem we ever face is an opportunity to walk in

faith and please God. Every problem is an opportunity to

overcome with God's help. How can we expect to receive the

blessings promised to the overcomer if we never have anything

    to overcome?

What is the answer when we seem overwhelmed with trouble? Look

to Jesus. He has already won the victory. He has overcome and

defeated the world. In Him is victory.

You may ask how you can look to Jesus. It is mostly a matter of

focus -- what you choose to think on. What God says in His Word

will set you free and give you peace. What the circumstances

say is not the final word.

So, go to God's Word. Cling to the promises. Speak them. Sing

them. Shout them. Rejoice over them. And thank God for them.

Also, you need to develop a closer relationship with the Lord.

That is His desire and it should be yours. All relationships

are based on communication, so you must talk to the Lord to

deepen your relationship with Him. Develop the habit of talking

with Him about everything. You can speak freely to Him -- after

all He knows what you are thinking anyway.

SAY THIS: No matter what I face, the Lord is with me, and I can

overcome because Jesus already won the victory.

  4. I just wanted to say that my heart and prayers go out to each of you. God is good and soooo faithful. Karen, that's right, that is where peace/balance is, in pure trust in the Lord, no matter what the future holds, because He is holding on to you and Dave. What has helped me THE most is knowing that this life is just but a moment, and you'll get to spend eternity with Dave in the presence of the Most High God. I fully believe we'll know each other in heaven.

I have a friend that has a beautiful story to tell about her time with a beautiful little girl,Meagan, that she became mommy too, for a time. Meagan had gotten HIV through birth, and her mom died soon after.

Long story short, my friend asked her pastor one day, "how do I pray for her?" The pastor told her this: You continue to pray for her healing. Then God will either heal her instantly, or He'll heal her through doctors and medicine, or He'll heal her through the Ultimate Healing, and bring her Home. I just loved that so much. Ya know? A new body that never gets sick, never hurts, talk about the ULTIMATE healing...

(her story is acually online, but I don't want to threadjack, so if anyone is interested, just let me know.)

Praying for you and dave, and everyone else too!

    ((hugs))

  5. My mom just lost her hair too. It was hard seeing her for the first time yesterday with out a scarf or anything, but I reassured her that she's still beautiful and always will be. This has been the hardest part so far for her. But, God is good, and His grace is sufficient, always.

Prayers for you and brian. Keep the faith. :)

  6. Hi and Welcome!

Yes, my mom goes to the CTCA and we love it. Everyone we've ever talked to there has agreed with us in that, 'if you have to get treated for cancer, this is the place to be.' One lady came from md anderson and had said they were just a 'number' there, and that they felt like they really mattered here. It truly is a wonderful place, treating the mind, body, and spirit. As we all know, nutrition, and faith are a BIG part of beating this monster. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions.

    You're in my prayers.

    Christy

  7. Ann, let me know what you think! The cd I got is 'In Beauty We Return'.

I just ordered another one by Nicole, called 'Passion Spirit', also Native American flute. Can't wait for that one to get here!

I have a love for music too, all kinds.

I used to have Cindy Lauper, Tears for Fears, Boy George.. lol Also like Garth Brooks and Valen Halen.

In classical, I like Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, Bethoven...

  8. 1) my Carlos Nakai cd

    2) my first grader's play 'bugs' went great last night!

    3) this site

    4) my headache is going away

    5) my husband is cooking supper tonight :P

  9. I know this is totally off topic, but what's your favorite kind of music?

Who do you enjoy listening to?

My favorite kind of music is contemporary Christian and praise & worship. I LOVE Selah, Chris Rice, Michael W. Smith, I could go on, but I won't.

Recently I got a massage, and the lady was playing some very beautiful music, very relaxing. So, a few days later I called her and asked what it was. She said it was probably Carlos Nakai, a Native American flute player. Have any of you heard his music?? OMG It's just the most beautiful music I've ever heard. I ordered one of his cds on amazon.com and got it a couple of days ago and am wearing it out!

  10. Pam, just wanted to say 'welcome' and this is a wonderful site with lots of support. it's a God send.

  11. Thank you so much Cindi, that was like getting a little cyber hug. :) I'd do absolutely anything for my mom.

She's coming down to my first grader's play today. He's a lightening bug. :) (fire fly) I was prepared for her to not want to come with the hair coming out just a few days ago. What an adjustment that has to be, to say the very leastl! But she's a trooper and coming anyway!

Thank you so much Melanie! Maybe we'll even order a wig from them too! She's always had short curly hair and I saw one there like that. :)
