  1. wow, sooo young! :(

I'm so sorry you're having to go through this.

This is a wonderful place with lots of information, encouragement and HOPE!!! Never loose your hope.

My mom is a five year survivor because of prayer, faith, hope, and good doctors.

you and your family will be in my prayers from now on.

    ((hugs))

  2. Have any of you ever had this? It's a very specific pinpointed radiation. They've came a loooong way with this radiation stuff since mom had it last time. It sounds like a very good thing, if you have to have radiation...

This was mentioned as a possibility this time, but of course we're praying for NED when she gets her scans in a month!

  3. Thank you for the update!

I'm praying for you. I always feel we come away from the doc more questions than answers, in general. It's like while you're in there, you're trying so hard to absorb what they're saying, then you get out the door and have so many questions about it all! They don't give enought time sometimes, ya know?

you take it easy and take care of yourself!

    ((hugs)) and prayers!

  4. Have I told ya lately how awesome you all are??? :)

Prayers are what matter the most in this, right along with the faith and hope.

I told mom about the water, but she already knew and is water logged! lol She drank ten glasses yesterday, 80 oz! (and had already had six when I called her earlier.)

yes, the pain lasts longer each time, and each time has gotten a little worse too... lasts bout 8 or 9 days now. Then she's mostly just very tired.

Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart and my mom thanks you too!

  5. Please pray for my mom. She had her last chemo on friday and now she's in a lot of pain. Her joints ache so bad, a lot worse in her hips, knees.

I know He hears and answers our prayers, sometimes not right when we think He should, but His timing is different than ours, but is always for the best.

    Thank you so much

    Christy

  6. Cathy, soooo glad you posted with an update! wow, you are such an inspiration, with your positive attitude and courage!

So, how many wigs do ya have now?? :) My mom only has two, I'd like to get her a few more. (Paula Young seems to have some cute ones for a good price.)

    Take care of you!

((hugs)) and prayers always going up for you

I barely made it through your post...

I know you have wonderful friends here and that there will always be people here for you, trying to encourage you and lift you up, and just listen and give you a shoulder to cry on.

I wish I could take this away from you, and everyone else here. I will be praying for you. Don't ever give up, there is always HOPE.

ps my mom is a five year survivor!!

I'm looking for the day you post on your five yr anniversary too!

  8. I had my two days of "getting over the shock", so now I/we can focus on getting on with the fix.

and that shock is just like a big ol kick in the stomach, isn't it? knocking ya flat on your back, leaving ya gasping for air. Then, ya pick yourself up, get your focus on the Lord and the next plan of attack. (at least that's how I remember feeling;))

and Yes, you are still very much an inspiration!

and thank you for the encouragement!

  9. I'm so very sorry Peggy. I know you still have your hope, but this is such a let down, I know. God is still at work in our lives, even when they look like such a mess to us. You'll always be an inspiration to us.

((hugs)) and many prayers for you and your family.

    Christy

  10. Dave & Karen, I'm just so sorry. I keep you all in my prayers. God is at work behind the scenes, and some day we'll get to see the finished masterpiece.

    There's ALWAYS hope!

    ((hugs)) & prayers

  11. this is just too cute! :)

Ever mindful of the congregation, the Baptist preacher and his wife decided to get a new dog, and knew that the dog also had to be a Baptist.

They visited kennel after kennel and explained their needs. Finally, they found a kennel whose owner assured them he had just the dog they wanted. The owner brought the dog to meet the pastor and his wife.

"Fetch the Bible," he commanded. The dog bounded to the bookshelf, scrutinized the books, located the Bible, and brought it to the owner.

"Now find Psalm 23," he commanded. The dog dropped the Bible to the floor, and showing marvelous dexterity with his paws, leafed through and finding the correct passage, pointed to it with his paw.

The pastor and his wife were very impressed and purchased the dog.

That evening, a group of church members came to visit. The pastor and his wife began to show off the dog, having him locate several Bible verses.

    The visitors were very impressed.

One man asked, "Can he do regular dog tricks, too?"

"I haven't tried yet," the pastor replied. He pointed his finger at the dog.

"HEEL!" the pastor commanded. The dog immediately jumped on a chair, placed one paw on the pastor's forehead and began to howl.

The pastor looked at his wife in shock and said, "Good Lord! He's Pentecostal!"

I LOVE this joke and I am Pentecostal!! :)

    hehe

  12. Mom had her last of four treatments yesterday. (they've been once a month, six hours) It was the worst by far. She gets the restless legs thing real bad and yesterday they gave her the ativan before it started bothering her and it seemed to have an adverse affect. She was very edgy and getting irritated with us cause we wouldn't/couldn't let her walk by herself. She wasn't stable at all, her knees would give out, but she couldn't sit still either! Poor thing, it was so hard to watch.

So, if it's like the last three treatments, the next week and a half or so will be pain filled, and very tiring. But she's so positive and such an inspiration!

She'll have scans in about four weeks. Will post an update then.

    Christy

  13. My mom will have her fourth round of carbo/taxol in about a week. They've been once a month for the last three months, and it hits her a little harder each time. She has a lot of pain the first several days after a txt, then she's very tired. We don't know how it's working yet from the doctors stand point, but are still claiming her healing in Jesus name. I imagine they'll do scans after the fourth to see where they stand. The possibility of radiation has been mentioned afterwards.

Mom is stronger than she knows. She's even in Dallas this week with her sis, helping her brother get settled in to the house he just bought.

We told her to not over do it, of course, but she wanted to help before the last txt.

I'll be praying for your mom.

    God bless,

    Christy
