    I started my course to get my CNA/CHHA!!

    I passed my clinical!!! :) woohoo!! sigh of relief here!!!

    Thursday is my puter test in Tulsa, could use a few more prayers!!

    thank you all so much!! gotta go make up last day of school today cause we missed one for snow!! :(

    and it's my birthday! lol

    Will be at the nursing home all morning. :)

    I haven't been around much, but thinking of you and praying you daily!

    I'm enrolled in a course to get my CNA, as well as the Certified Home Health Aide! I'm excited, but so nervous!! I'm getting information overload!!

    It's a two week course, with one week behind me. Which is really good, because it'll all be fresh in my mind when I test! Next week we'll be at the nursing home training, then on that friday, we have our test! Please pray for me, that I pass it!! I've done the work before in a hospital, buts it been almost nine years. Although, it is all coming back to me of course. The thing is, you have to do so many steps, in order!! Like, the opening in to a pt's room, id the pt, tell them what you're doing and who you are, then the little things, like putting a towel over their chest before you brush their teeth, putting a towel in the sink before you brush their dentures, so many others. :shock: I have to learn all the range of motion moves, all the steps to a bed bath....

    What's going to be crazy is that we test with a class mate as our pt. I can just see myself cracking up at some point with some of the stuff I have to say! (like what I'm washing...)

    But, I'm going to love the work, I do hope to go in to Home Health. :)

    Yes, we ARE in this together, and TOGETHER we CAN make a difference.

    Like Val said, just putting the info out there will at least make people stop and think!

    All together we HAVE actually done a wonderful job and I'm thankful for that and for all of you!

    just wondering, did you make flyers, place them around your town or doc offices and such and how did that go???

    I did, and I got nadda so far... zilch, nuttin, and I think my town sucks. lol Even after a little write up in podunkville news and flyers around town, I got nuttin. I did hit two nice business owners up, that I know very well, and both did promise to donate, which is great, but I think they're doing the offline thing and mailing in a check.. which takes forever to get notice of and may not make it by the walk... owell, just having a pity party, and hoping Cindi's got the bar open. lol :)

    Katie, I got it here: http://goodysonline.com/ They're having a GREAT sale right now online! Even better than going in the actual store! :)

    I finally made my flyers yesterday. I went to mom's doc at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and gave some to the receptionist and she was so nice, she told me she knew my mom and how sweet she was! :)

    She said she'd pass them out for me. How cool is that? Now, hopefully her pulmonologist and onc will donate!

    Still trying to find out who will take the donation boxes, Katie, hopefully I know more tonight!

    I had a little write up in our local newspaper today, so that's exciting too! She put my cell in there though... (to contact me to find out how to donate.) what a drag.. I'll probably get every freak in town calling me.. lol

    Jen, I feel like I could've wrote your very post...

    I feel the same. I love you all dearly and pray for you, even though you don't see me posting so much.

    It's nice to not have scans til December and try to live in 'lala land' instead of 'cancer land' for a while..

    Hey, so glad you got your tat!! :)

    Yes, it's normal for it to peel, mine did too. BUT, the main thing is, just keep it moist. The BEST lotion for that, imo, is the Curel, fragrance free. It also seems to pull that color back out to normal.

    OH MY GOODNESS, YES!!!

    I'm so glad you started this, I was feeling a little sad about my friends and family and even sent out my link again just TODAY, with the addy of LUNGevity as well, cause a lot of my family won't donate online with a credit card...

    I have 20 sponsors (says 21, but one guy, I've NEVER even met donated twice!) and 14 of them are on line friends!!!! (from another site my hubby and I frequent.)

    Thanks Val, I don't feel so alone in this now.. Thank God we have each other! :)
