Last Sunday it was a great 70 degrees here in Minnesota ! Many wearing tea shirts and shorts.
Yesterday that white stuff was falling from the sky. This morning all was white again. The grass, the streets,
The roofs, the trees, all was white.
It is a very heavy wet snow. My town got 7 inches. South of here got even more.
Hope all of you are feeling better. Take care.

Top of the morning to you. Happy St Patrick's day to you.
Everyone is a little Irish on this day . Even St. Patrick ( he really was born in England)
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
The sun is shining here in Minnesota, I hope you have a beautiful day today.

Your wife and I have a few things in common. When I was 50 years old I was told I had a mass in my R upper lobe of lung about the size of a golf ball.
The good news is I just retired last summer from a local hospital where I was working as an RN. I am now 67 years old , and hopefully this summer I will be 68.
This is very scary. I will not lye this is a tough journey. I went through a lot of tough times . When I was told I had lung cancer I really did not think that I would survive.
It is possible to survive. Please keep us posted.

Hello, I had stage 3B lung cancer also, diagnosed in 1997. I had 2 chemos and daily radiation to my chest, then R upper Lobectomy then 2 chemos post op . I have some lasting affects from that as neuropathy particularly in my feet. I never had brain radiation. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hello Eric.
I just got in from walking my dogs. It has warmed up some here today, not above freezing yet though. The sun is still shining.
Tomorrow they say we will wake up to more snow , hopefully it will be over by noon so I can get it off the driveway before dark.
Hope all are having a great day.

Hello. Here in Minnesota it is sunny but very cold.
This morning it was - 10 degrees F ( or -23.3 Celcius )
We "warmed" up to 16 degrees F ( or -8 Celcius)
They promise us we will get a little warmer this weekend but will stay below freezing.
If it is about 40 there in Scotland please enjoy it.

Sounds like perhaps needing to go for follow up for prostrate cancer may have saved your life !
Stage one lung cancer with no symptoms could have become much more of a problem if it had a chance to progress.
.
I went to the doctor for pain, I was stage 3B. I had chemo, radiation, then Right Upper Lobe removed then more chemo.
The good news is this all started on Dec. 3 1997. Here it is Feb 24 2015 Cancer Free and reading your message.
Phil keep us posted. Any problems after the surgery? Have they scheduled a follow up CT?

Pain patches, that's great , they work continuously ! Do you think it could also do with her arthritis? We sure have had a lot of weather going across the country, many LOWS .
I find my arthritis flairs with lows. My family is in eastern Massachusetts, I do believe they would verify that they have had quite a few storms recently, 3rd snowiest winter ever recorded, over 8 feet on snow so far, more coming tomorrow.
Does changes of weather bother her?

So she sees the Oncologist in 5 days? Hopefully he can give you an answer of why the pain now. Please let us know.
Has she got something to take to relieve the pain?

Hello. Glad you found us.
Support is very important.
Chemo and radiation are tough on us but most important they are tough on those cancer cells!
If possible it is good to do what exercise you can. It helps.
Also laughter is good medicine. It raises many hormones we need to heal.
I have a friend who has survived SCLC for many years. I hope you respond well also to the treatment.
Keep us posted.

Greetings Ryan. So glad you found us and shared your journey. Great news that all your tumors have responded so well to the Tarceva ! WOW !
It is sad that most people don't realize that you don't have to be a smoker or old to get lung cancer.
Boy your baby is do pretty soon , is it due in April? Hope you share that good news with us too.
Sounds like you are tolerating the Tarceva well also. Please keep us posted on how things are going.

Only 5 months of treatment, sounds like so far you have had a very good response to the chemo if your lung bases are clear.
I never have heard of genetic SCLC.
Hope the liver responds well to this new plan, keep us posted.
I have a friend who is over 15 years of surviving SCLC, wish you the best also.

Hello. Sorry you are going through this. I imagine your husband is acting as most men would , " like a tough guy"
I can not say for sure what that Dr 's role is but what I can imagine it might be. If your husband smoked that long he might surely need help quiting.
Also he might need an evaluation of what his lung capacity is or is he able to maintain good Oxygen sats. Will he need help to tolerate his needed treatment.
Please be there for the times your husband may open up and talk He will need someone nonjudgemental to listen to him.
Keep us posted.

Welcome. Glad you found us. In 1967 my future father in law died of lung cancer. 30 yrs later I was diagnosed with lung cancer.
In 2013 I lost my husband to lung cancer.
I am glad you went to the hospital and got a biopsy done, now we will soon get the results and I hope you share them with us.
If it is cancer the results hopefully will let you know what kind, as there are several types and hopefully if it is you will get a plan and get started quickly with treatment.
Please keep us posted , Also keep in mind this can be beaten , I am a survivor.

Thanks for the update. Sounds to me like great news--Shrunk to half size ! and also that the labs are going up!
Hope the labs continue to improve when they are rechecked in 2 weeks.
Hope this helps you to have a happier New Year.

Hope all will have a Happy New Year. It is 2015.
Yesterday in 2014 it was minus 7 degrees F at this time. Today it is 15 degrees F ABOVE .
Many of Minnesotans have gone south to Orlando. They will be at the Citrus Bowl Game.
All the news broadcasters on the local news are dressed in Maroon and Gold, the Gopher colors.
I hope my husband and his mom and dad are able to cheer them on from heaven.
If he were here I know he would be glued to the TV.
I pray that all are feeling well and happy today. Good news would be an added bonus.
Blessing to all.

Hello. I understand this is not a cancer that originates in the lung. They say that most people survive this disorder of the blood but many have long term consequences.
Sorry to hear that you are suffering like this. It is very scarry to have such a severe problem breathing.
