  1. Grateful for the little things in life---coloring eggs with my kids and their cousins. Also the big things--my niece and nephew will be baptized tomorrow, and we are the godparents.

Grateful Easter will be here soon!

  2. How very caring and brave of you to go and visit your sister's house. I will pray for you. Praying that it will be joyous and peaceful, and in every corner you will find a happy memory.

  3. As soon as you mentioned it, I remembered it...but only about 3 lines. How interesting that this particular song emerged from your subconscious at this point. Now it will be rattling around inside my head all night. At least I know more than 3 lines now, and can appreciate the lyrics more!

  4. Hey--we finally saw some sun today! Grateful for that!

DH is coming home after being gone awhile, and son only has an ear infection--not the other problems I was concerned about. I may actually get some sleep tonight!

  5. I LOVE this, and I really needed to read it tonight. I swear, this will help me keep climbing out of my well. I'm forwarding it on immediately to friends. Bless you, my friend.

  6. Grateful for the rain today, and the nice safe place to be during the rain. Grateful that the bank FINALLY wised up and released $$$ of mine they had 'put a hold on'. Geesh!

Grateful for my good old dog, who howls along with my daughter everytime she practices her clarinet. I will miss that is she ever quite playing.

  7. Grateful that I made it through the first day back at school with no worries...very glad that St. Pat's gave us something to be silly about. I'm smiling thinking about my red-headed Irish grandma, watching down over me.

  8. And here I thoought I was so crabby and glum today...I read this and my face just lit up! I am soo happy for you, Geri. I know this has been a ling and winding road, but I pray you will be home with your sister and all your family for Easter.

As for dropping all those pounds of water---yikes! What a relief that must be.

  9. My brother made it tonight for family dinner (he had to do the work AND cleaned it up!), so I will consider that good enough. I like it well enough once a year, but I'm not rushing back two days in a row.

    Green beer however...I'll take that!

  10. I came here today because I was feeling the same way...at least I'm glad I stumbled on to a friend and the wonderful picture of her boy...always makes me smile.

It does just smack you down, and shake you up, doesn't it? The people in my life don't get it---they assume that I am "over it" and "better", so I just cry alone. I miss my Mom. I miss having parents. I miss having someone there each day who would listen to me grinch about the day, and then offer to "go up there and take care of" the people who were giving me grief.

I get it, Missy...I really do! We can't both be crazy, so I think we are just in good company.

  11. Heading off Friday for AZ for our (early) spring break. I'm driving the 900 miles with just the kids and me, so prayers for a safe trip there and back are mightily appreciated. I really need this week to soothe my soul and (hopefully) help me make it through the rest of the school year.

Have a good week, everyone! Jackie, I promise to be grateful everyday.

  12. We love you!

    We love you!

    We love you!

And where you go we'll follow, we'll follow, we'll follow...

OK, that sounds a bit like a stalker now that I think about it. Just know that you are truly loved here, and that we are wrapping you in warm blankets of hugs and prayers.

  13. GREAT info, Christine!

I would just echo the being honest with your sister. It seems like what they imagine is scarier to them than the truth. With my mom we kept them updated (good and bad) in as simple (but truthful) terms as possible. I've also found that I sometimes had to prompt them. I might even say something like, "I'm in kind of a bad/sad mood today because..." They would often join in with their own feelings, then.

Praying for you and your sister.
