Like Carleen said, FIRE THAT DA*N DR!!! There is absolutely no WAY to tell whether or not a cancer can respond without trial. Find another ONC to deal with. Please don't let fear get in the way of the fight. Let your boyfriend know there is a way to fight everything. Get all the info you can. Look into trials, and nutrition etc. WHY is surgery not an option? Has it spread? My mom has stage four with mets to skin kidney and liver, and she is DOING GREAT TODAY!!!!!!! So, don't let them knock ya down. Please know that you have alot of new friends here PRAYING FOR YOU and YOUR BOYFRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I know I am always telling you guys when my mom is doing well, but today she is doing REALLY WELL!!! As a matter of fact, she has NO PAIN in her shoulder, without too many meds, and she has cleaned her kitchen, scrubbed her floors, and cleaned the coffee pot (Took it apart etc...). Its so good to see her be able to do the things she has done in the past and being able to do it without getting sick or tired. I am just thrilled.
For those who know...my air conditioner is fixed, and my car is fixed. Whew. Like a load off of my back this week.
May God continue to bless us all, and keep us all and loved ones in good health and happiness.

You GOT IT!! No problem, prayer for you NOW!!!!!! And as for WIMP?? NOT EVEN. There is always nervousness, and fear. Normal everyday emotions God himself gave us. So you remember that you are a WARRIOR and live on my friend.

Thank you everyone for your insights. So it IS okay to take Celebrex than probably. So, I will have mom ask for some Celebrex. Heck maybe it will help with the damn pain in her shoulder too. Thanks again everyone, expecially John who goes out on the edge to find info.]

Oh my dear sweet (((((PEG))))), I will pray till I am sweating for you guys!!!!! You are so strong and courageous. I can't stand it. I know that this radiation will get RID OF THAT CRUD!! I know it. She seems to respond very well. And then no PAIN!!!

Sorry we had to meet this way, but I am glad you found this board. Lots of wonderful people. My mom had nsc and she is stage 4 with mets to skin, liver, and kidney. She was dx in December and doing quite well. Its hard sometimes, but you just keep plugging along one day at a time. Like Katie said, research this disease, and get your mom all the help you can muster. There are SURVIVORS!!! Your mom can be one of them. Just keep her spirits up, nutrition, hydration, and rest. Keep us posted.

Hey has anyones oncologist told them not to take aspirin or Ibuprofin while on Chemo? I'm curious because of the Cox-2 inhibitors that is in these 2 things. my moms onc. told her not to take them, because it thins the blood, and I saw such good things on MSNBC.com about them and lung cancer. Can anyone please enlighten me

My mom is handling her treatment so much better this round. So far so GOOD!!! Shes eating, and not much nausea. I am so very happy. As I stated in my other post...they are taking a huge step toward radiating the thing on her head, and they are going to drain fluid on her shoulder. Then the pain won't be there anymore.

Don't be sorry at all, please ramble as much as you need. How is your father doing now?
I recommend a pow wow with all the Dr.s Say LOOK WHATS THE SCOOP? I know its easier said than done, but man...too many diagnosis. I would go with what the onc says, because they KNOW what they are doing when it comes to cancer.

Prayers on on their way in my corner of the earth for your father too. Its soo hard in the beginning. I couldn't work, eat, sleep, be with my kids, or my husband, I basically shut down, and crying...whew lets talk about the crying.
Know its not a death sentence...my mom is still doing pretty good and she is 7 months into treatment. She has good and bad days...but you get used to them. (Sounds bad I know...but true). Please know that GOD is there, and you have to trust in him. (Don't lose faith my new friend. )
I will also pray for you to have the strength that you need for this battle too. We all can WIN!!! I want to let you know that first hand.
Hang in there my new friend, and we're all here if you need us.

The trial sounds like its the right thing Lenny!! You seem to have your head on straight about it, and besides you are still getting first line Chemo, so what would be the difference between another thing fighting it or not? Anyway..I am praying for you my friend, and you hug your kids everyday, even when you are feeling down, (but your young so you might not feel down at all!!!!) God bless you.
