Cheryl,
Im glad you came back to let us know how youre doing. My father is IIIa and is undergoing treatment right now. He will undergo treatment for another 6 weeks (they are dragging it out, giving him smaller doses over a longer period of time as he only battled lymphoma two years ago). After that he'll have a CT scan and PRAYERFULLY WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY!! He had one node affected in the mediastinum. I cry, get angry, feel numb, and PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!! I will not give up faith, not for a minute!! Do the same!!!!!!!!!!
Keep us posted!!

Thank you, Bob, for adding my father to your prayer list. His name is Matthew. Know that you are prayed for every night as well.

Thank you so much!! Its so comforting to know the prayers that are going up with mine today!!

We have been waiting for the results of my father's bone scan. If you could offer a prayer that it comes back clean, we would appreciate it so much.

I am just about to say my nightly prayers when I finish up on this board tonight and you are certainly in them, Peg.

Hello Friends,
I was online last night researching and came across things that I will ask my father's oncologist about on Friday, but I wanted to run it by you as well. First was Vitamin B17. It seems to be found in apricot seeds. It is supposed to be preventative for cancer and shrink tumors if you have cancer. The other thing is the vaccine. When does that come into play, when youve exhausted all options?
Thanks for anything you might know.

Youve got those prayers right now!!! I also have to tell you I had to read twice when you said you had grandchildren!!! I mean that!! You both dont look like grandparents!!!

Prayers going up right now, Sophia. Let us know how it goes.

Oh boy, do I know what you mean!!! My father was told at his 3/26 visit that we had to do something about the nodule that was there. So it began, PET, surgeon visit, needle biopsy, surgeon visit for results, biopsy of nodes, surgeon visit for results, finally onc visit, wasnt treated till 5/30. Theres got to be a better way. Hopefully prayers held the cancer at bay all that time. Keep us posted on the progress.

Don,
Thanks for the update about Lucie. What a beautiful couple you are. I pray for the people on this board every night. I also remember all the people praying for my father and actually take the time to concentrate on the power of all those prayers going up. Your strength is an inspiration.

Gail, have a WONDERFUL time!!!! I have shared your story and Annie's with my father because he is fighting lung cancer after two battles with lymphoma. You are both an inspiration to us that there is much hope to fight 2 cancers and WIN!!!!

What wonderful words to hear after going through so much!!! I cant wait for my father's oncologist to say that to him!!

Praying for your family right now.

So glad to hear the surgery went well and no surprises. Your optimism is an inspiration.

Rana,
Dont worry, you dont yell like I yell. I left my daughter's Girl Scout Bridging Ceremony crying and sobbing, because I couldnt stop, I knew I shouldnt be doing it, but couldnt help it, then felt guilty for spoiling her day.
Try to remember all the prayers going up from this board. Keep us posted.

Sophia,
I am not too far behind you, my special father was only just diagnosed in May. He has fought two battles with non hodgkins lymphoma in the last four years and now this. It is through a lot of praying and this board that I get through the day. And, Im much more at peace now that he has started treatment. Once you start fighting it, you feel like youre doing something not just waiting for the next test, next results, next appt.
Youve come upon a wonderful support group here. Keep us posted.

I think you can see we all know what you mean. All I think and pray about is my father's lung cancer. But, the weekend of the 30th I did go away with my hubby and daughters. It had been planned from way before the diagnosis. I felt GUILTY about going, but I couldnt let my daughters down. Also, I know my father would feel bad about me cancelling plans. He doesnt want this to monopolize everyone's life. So, it did ease the guilt a lot knowing that. Having said that, I do put a lot of other things on the back burner (hubby included), because sometimes I just dont know what to do or feel that my father needs me the most right now.
But you asked for advice. Go with hubby. Dad will be fine. It sounds like you are a wonderful daughter.
