  1. Veronica,

I didnt get to read your post till Sunday night, but I hope you have taken everybody's advice. I hope you are still thinking positively, praying, and sticking with a doctor that looks to the positive instead of the negative, outdated statistics.

    FIGHT, FIGHT,FIGHT!!!!!!!

    :D:D:D:D

  2. Hi Veronica,

First, let me say I AM SO HAPPY you responded to your treatment!!!!

My father has lung cancer now, but two years ago right after he was declared in remission with the lymphoma I began having panic attacks, something that hadnt happened to me in years - and I wasnt the one who had cancer, he did. It never happened through both his bouts of lymphoma, stem cell transplant, etc. Youd have thought I could rest easier now that he was in remission. Suddenly I couldnt sleep at night, or couldnt stay asleep all night, and obsessed about my death, etc. Im not a psychologist but I think when you are actively fighting something you feel like you are doing something and then when its done, you feel like now you have to worry about it coming back.

Its good you are seeking help, thats a great step. I know from your other posts you are religious so keep praying. I have lots of prayers I would love to share if you are interested- just let me know. Those prayers and this board are my rock. Keep praying and coming here for support.

Dont say you have no right to complain. You have every right to share how you are feeling because you never know when that will be the post that will inspire someone and they will see themselves in it, like I did with this one.

Im praying for everyone on this board, so know you are among them!!

  3. Hi Shelly

I am praying all the time too. Someone said here on this board once, sometimes the answer is "yes" and sometimes it is "wait". So I am waiting. God has always answered my prayers before, sometimes not the way I wanted but I found the way that he did. My father had non hodgkins lymphoma twice, and of course each time we prayed that it wasnt that. But, he got through it both times, even did well with a stem cell transplant. Okay, then this. Now he has lung cancer. He's such a GOOD man! He's been through so much!!! I am offering up all this waiting, crying, and worrying for the souls in purgatory, so it will have meaning and purpose.

Im praying for you and your mother tonight, Shelley, and if you want to email me, I have prayers and novenas that I say, that I would be happy to share.

    Love,

    Linda

father dx last week adenosquamous carcinoma, one node affected

  6. What a great forum! I am asking for prayers for my father, Matthew, age 63. He was diagnosed with adenosquamous carcinoma which I understand is a nsclc. Friday, we found out it spread to one node. We are awaiting the final results of that as surgeon took sample of surrounding nodes as well. If it spread any further than that, they might not do surgery as it would mean it was going into the other lung. Surgeon did say he didnt think it was the case, surrounding nodes looked benign, but you know........... He had non hodgkins lymphoma in 99 and 01 with a stem cell transplant 9/4/01. Surgeon said he needs chemo first before doing right upper lobectomy and take out node. I worry because he had so much chemo before with two bouts of lymphoma.

My father is a wonderful man. He lives to do for others. He is the kindest man. This has been devastating to us. I pray, cry, pray, get angry, pray, feel numb, pray. I do believe in miracles and Jesus' Healing Hand. Maybe my answer from God is "wait". He lives to be with his family, my mom, 2 sisters, my husband, and three children. PLEASE pray he is cured and grows old with us. Thank you so much.

  7. Carleen,

Boy do I see myself in your post. My father was diagnosed Tuesday 5/13 with adenosquamous carcinoma which I am told is a NSCLC. Yesterday, surgeon said it did spread to one node.

I PRAY FOR MIRACLES!!! Even when I know those around me think Im in denial - Im not! I just know the power of prayer. My father battled non hodgkins lymphoma twice and did so well. I was praying this spot and node would be benign and knew it could. I still will pray he will come through this and be cured.

If you are interested in some prayers that I find very comforting, just email me, I am always happy to share!!

    Keep us posted.

  8. Hello Everyone,

My father, age 63, was diagnosed with adenosquamous carcinoma and today they said one lymph node is affected. He checked others even though he doesnt think they are affected, but we have to wait for final lab results. My father is in remission from non hodgkins lymphoma.

I go back and forth from numb to uncontrollable crying. Does anyone know anything about this type and did they have a node affected. Ive been reading some survivor stories and find them so encouraging.

Thank you for listening, I was so grateful to find this website.

    Linda
