  1. I too have had a super week. The weather here in TN has been beautiful. I got out and washed the patio furniture. My wife and I decided that we needed to wash the vinyl siding this year because we did not wash it last year. Having some suds left from the furniture, I wanted to test it on some of the green tree sap on the siding. Yep, you guessed it. I had to mix up more and finish the job. The next day was even warmer out. Time to mow the lawn. Got the ole truck washed too.

This has been a beautiful week. Did have some rain on Tuesday tho.

The only thing that I did not do to complete the week was to hop in the truck and head to Dollywood. Oh well supposed to be nice next week too so I might make that trip also.

  2. Bruce**** what happened to your signature? :?:

    Karen

I don't know Karen. Sometimes it showes and sometimes it don't. I keep my IE and cookies cleaned regular and perhaps that causes it. It does this usually after I clean up IE.

  3. Bumping this to the top Di. Did you meet with your oncoligist today? How did it go. I have been lucky when I went to Vandy. I never had problem finding a spot to park. That was 3 years ago tho.

Talk to us. Let us know how it went.

  4. OK Frank. The week-end is past now. You were supposed to be up and out of there by the week-end....uh...or did the view from your window make your heart race. Anyway, time to put those binoculars away and get back here.

    Miss you man. Hurry back.

  5. Altho I can't make the party, I am sure there will be enough people to have a good time. I know Frank is going to hate this. Perhaps you can save him a Bud Light. And Ginny, don't go getting yourself arrested now  . We would just have to stop the party to bail you out.

Happy 50th Cindi. Hope you have 50 more.

  6. I had Carbo/Taxol along with the radiation. My Onc and surgeon was both pleased with the results. My tumor shrunk from 7.5 cm to a microscopic trace. I was inoperable to start with but after the shrinkage I had left lung removed.

As far as your questions about what to expect, remember everyone is different. I had no side effect from treatment. I did get tired and the "hard to swallow deal" tho. Magic mouthwash took care of that. When I had my surgery and while in the hospital, the doctor ordered a GI Cocktail for me. Boy did that do the trick. Cleaned my plate and ask for another. Can you imagine someone asking for a second plate of hospital food?

Anyway, no hair loss or any thing like that. Hope this helps answer your question. Also hope that Carbo/Taxol/ Radiation does the trick for your husband.

  7. I woke up around 3 this morning thinking about Frank. He has not posted but a few times lately so I signed on to PM him and saw this. Best of luck Frank and thinking about you.

  8. Grab a cup of coffe and enjoy. Frank, in your case, we will allow you to get a Bud Light this time.

  9. Frank, Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. Glad to see you still have that "sense of humor" tho.

Been having headaches and dizzy spells so I'm having a CT of the head next monday to make sure there is no mets to brain.

I had these darn symptoms a while back and my MRI came back clear. Keep your chin up and your spirits high. Will be looking for your results of brain scan.

Do you think that perhaps we could save you some money if we told the doctor that you are empty headed (including no brains)?:lol::lol:

  10. I too have been wondering about him. Bruce , get back here pronto and update us.

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to PLEASE show a friend or family member how to post if the need should arise.

  11. At the time of my dx I felt like I was in good health. It was February and temperatrure was averaging about 15 to 25 degrees outside. I worked outside clearing the walks and clearing the parking lots at the college where I worked. I would get hoarse which I felt was from the cold air. When I would go in for coffee about every hour or so, the hoarsness would disapear. I had only lost maybe 10 lbs in a long period. My co-workers nagged me to go to doctor. I kept telling them it was the cold air. My wife got the flu, so I decided to see the doctor at the same time. Well the rest is history....NSCLC (never given a stage)....radiation and chemo to shrink it and then left lung removed.

I can say, as well as most others here, there are no real advance symptoms of lung cancer.

If you are in doubt, get that 2nd opinion. Good Luck.

  12. Patti,

Please accept my condolences. How wonderful that she left you fond memories that I am sure you will cherish for years to come. Will be praying for strength to get you through the days and weeks ahead.

  13. We had alot of fun in chat, back in the day :D , with some of those people that are no longer with us. Between Bobmc and his bird, and DavidA cutting up, and us women harassing the men at any opportunity, I would just sit here at my computer laughing. And lets not forget you with friggin Dollywood.:lol::lol: I can't help smiling just typing about it all.

Those were the good ole days Debi. Bob and DavidA left a lot of memories for us all. I'll never forget the DavidA and Dave G dog battle tho. For those of you that don't know it DavidA started and hosted the Tuesday Chat.

DOLLYWOOD.... Let's not forget that I have never been to the beach.

  14. Hope you and John and the kids enjoy the trip. It is well deserved. I too am going to take my 1st trip to the ocean this year. Yes, Debi, I am going to the beach. I can't abandon Dollywood tho. She will be opening the park soon.

Don't worry Ry. I know Debi is capable of keeping everything under control. Have fun.
