  1. Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers at this time. I am deeply sorry that you must be going through this time. Praying that this is a bump in the road and that you will be back home soon. To all the wonderful sisters, you are in my prayers also. Terry is so lucky to have your love and support on his side. God Bless.

  2. I too am wondering about you Dean. You seem to always have time to offer hope and advice to others but hardly ever tell us about you. Guess that is what makes you the special person that you are. Now bring yourself out of hiding and talk to us. :)

  3. So we both feel really blessed and are starting to accept the fact that God is going to take him soon and we can't do anything about it.

I am sorry you are having to go through this. Just wanted to let you know that you and your family are in my prayers. Here is a poem that I use a lot. I think maybe Jane posted it a while back but not sure. If so I am sorry for the duplicate post. I enjoy it so much I wanted to share it again. Please remember that God will not call Rob home until He is ready to. I know it is hard but try to ... :) .

    God looked around his garden

    and found an empty place.

He then looked down upon the earth

    and saw your tired face.

He put his arms around you

    and lifted you to rest.

    God’s garden must be beautiful.

    He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

He knew that you were in pain,

He knew that you would never

    get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,

and the hills were hard to climb,

so he closed your weary eyelids,

    and whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you,

    but you didn’t go alone.

For part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

  4. Just wanted to let everyone know that I called my Onc today and he refered me to ER cause they had equipment to run scans etc.

Turns out my shortness of breath is being caused by Broncitis (sp). He gave me inhaler and anti - biotic to take. Said it should clear in a few days. Said my remaining lung looked good. Did not know that this could cause tightness in throat and neck. Guess I learned something.

  6. I now have the acid reflx. I had chemo and radiation and then surgery. This developed after my surgery so I can't say for sure which caused it. I understand this is normal to develop. I take aciphex which my Dr prescribed. I hope this helps to answer your question. :)

  7. Has anyone experience a sore neck. When I eat and swallow my neck area is in knots. It is hard to explain but if I talk or eat etc. it feels like my throat and neck is in knots. Could it be a muscle strain or what. It is in back of neck as well as throat area. Feels sorta like I have been shouting for ages. Any ideas? No sore throat or anything.

  8. Gollie Gee......I always thought that acronym was a city in Ohio.

Now I have learned something today.

On the serious side, I am sorry that ED came to visit. Hang in there and fight. And YES I see no reason you can't stick around here. Take Care

  9. Just wanted to post my feelings, from my experience, on this subject.

When I was dx I intended to continue working as long as I could take it. My main reason was that I had 16 sick days and 4 weeks of vacation built up. My employer allowed me 6 months FML. This was 7 1/2 months with pay. Had I chose to take them early on, then when I needed them they would have been gone.

I got Chemo and Rad at the same time and was going to work as long as possible. I saw my Onc about 1 time every other week. He would always ask if I was still working. We were looking for surgery after my treatments. About 6 weeks into treatment he told me in a nice way that if I continue to work that when time came to possibly do surgery then I would be "Run Down" and surgery would be worse for me. What he was trying to tell me I needed to keep my body up as much as possible.

I knew that when I had surgery that I would need all my time that I saved. Also I was looking at the possibility of SSDI after surgery. I knew there was a 6 month wait for that (or longer if denied) and I needed income for that time.

After my surgery was done, I fought tooth and nail to try to go back to work. One day the boss caught me just right and told me he was going to need to make a decision before long. My reply was "here let me help you" and gave him my keys.

I have worked sience 13 years old and felt like I had worked all my life and life would not be the same if I did not work.

Anyway 13 months later and still wanting to find a job that I can do.

As for Charlie, you know him better then we do. Is he happy working? How are you financially? Could you make ends meet if he quit? If he is like most of us are then that fear has crossed his mind of loosing a home or life savings etc. Like the others have said...maybe part - time. One more thought...can he work from home? He could work day or night when he was up to it.

Take Care and hope you get into Vanderbuilt soon. Nice place there. You and Charlie are in my prayers. Now....Look up and :) .

  10. This time last year I too was 2 weeks post - op. I know well what you are talking about. I sat on my porch in my PJ's last year and watched through the trees. I plan on seeing them this year tho.

For those that may not know it, NYC Macy's fireworks will be on NBC at 9 EST tonight. Great show but not as good as being there in person. :)

  11. That's alright Debi. There ain't but one way to find out if there is really an Igor. You come on to Michigan and find out. Now if you get there and you see someone with YELLOW Blonde hair then you will know that Dolly is there.:lol::lol:

Got a question tho....If I wear her wig, then how in the world am I going to imitate the rest of her? :?::?::?:

I might just decide to do " Almost Heaven, West Virginia, Blueridge Mountain Shanadoah River. Life is old there; older than the trees, Younger then the mountains; blowing like the breeze, Country Roads take me home to the place where I belong, West Virginia ... " Would you like that better?

  12. Rick - Katie,

I agree with the others. Those that sent you hate mail should be ashamed. You do a fantastic job. Thanks for all you love and effort.

I was off from late Sat until Monday. I was off again until just now. I missed CHAT :cry::cry: .

I did send you mail but it was returned cause the site was down. I sent another mail last night and it went through ( I think). I could not figure if the problem was on my end or what since others were logging on and posting.

I did not include any HATE and hope you didn't think so. If I did I am sorry. Again THANKS
