    OK Mo. We can't have you running off like this. We all need you here on the board. The first break you see ...run for the door. Oh yea, leave the IV Pole there. Ry ran off with one. Not sure what she did with it but I think she may come looking for you with it. Would you want her to chase you out of the place. I know you are not hanging around for the food cause I have yet to find good food in a hospital. :):):) .

    I can not comment on your post cause I have not had to make that decision. I just wanted to let you know that you are still in my Prayers. Hang in there. You and Dean, as well as some others, are really an inspiration to this board.

    Here is one that I ran across today and thought it might send a good laugh to everyone.

    The church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the church's morals was sticking her nose into other people's business.

    Several church members were unappreciative of her activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence. She made a mistake, however, when she accused Bob, a new member, of being a drunk after she saw his pickup truck parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She commented to Bob and others that everyone seeing it knew what he was doing. Bob, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny; he said nothing. Later that evening, Bob quietly parked his pickup in front of her house......and left it there all night.

    This is a sticky question here. I would like to answer both ways. No I am not a fence straddler. You must take into account all the facts. I know you can't (and don't need too) post them here. Ask yourself...How is your relationship with your brother? Are you close or do you talk only at holidays? Ask yourself what you would want if the case was the opposite and you were the patient? What would you want?

    I don't usually make suggestions like this cause every case is different. Find out from other relatives what his condition is exactly. Different types act differently. SCLC is fast growing and NSCLC is slow. As a lot of others said; write him a letter.

    Now here was my case. I was dx and told no one except my wife. I had chemo and radation together for about 6 weeks. No one knew except my employer, and they did not know for 3 weeks. I took treatments after work and continue to work. My church knew but I only told them limited info such as I was ill. I did take a leave of absence and told my boss.

    My point here is that I did not want people look at me and think I was dead. I did not want to be treated any different (pitty on me...etc) than before. Give your brother some time. It is a shock to him too. By all means keep up with his condition as best as you can through others. I'll bet he will c :) me ar :) und.

    Hi. I know how you feel right now. You are hurt and don't know which way to turn. Well you made one correct turn; you signed on to this board. I was diagnosed in 6/03. I went looking everywhere for someone that could give me some answers. I ran across a site where there is love and understanding. That site is where I am posting a reply now.

    I am sorry you feel the way you do about us. I feel if you will give us some time you will find that we are a very caring group. We will stop and listen to you, laugh with you or cry with you. In any case, we will be there for you. I am sorry you feel so hurt and ignored but I don't think anyone here monitor the board 24/7. We answer as we read the post. I did read all 3 of your post around 10AM today but had to walk away from them because I did not know how to respond without further hurt your feelings.

    I do want to ask that you stay with us and keep us posted as you learn more about your brothers condition. The more we know, the more we can offer. Whatever his stage and condition I'll bet you find someone here that has been there ...done that.

    Returning From AWOL

    I have not been posting much lately. I did not get my hall pass from RY and I have been lollagagging around. OK what is the fine?

    Serious tho, I am doing well and I have checked on everybody here. I have been busy with the pretty weather and I have spent some time in the Smokey Mountains. The mountains are my favorite. For those of you that may not know, Dolly Parton has a theme park in TN. I have about wore that place out. I did not know if I could walk around there all day but I did. Everyone has been in my thoughts and prayers. Am glad that I returned to find nothing really bad has happened while I was AWOL. Actually I have read some good news.

    Do you have any side effects from Prioslec. I still have the GERD. Onc put me on Protonix and they give me awful headake. Am going to have the light ran down my stomach nest week. Might see if I can switch to Prioslec. Never had this before my rad/chemo.

    I was offered life insurance after I had my surgery. Also my brother took a small policy after he had surgery in 1995. If anyone would like the name of the company PM me and I will send it to you.

    So sorry for the sudden turn of things. Just wanted to let you know that you and your family will be in my prayers as they have been. Please remember that God never puts more on us then we can handle. I lost my brother to cancer in 1999 and mom in 2000. When I took my brother to the ER the last time the doctor ask me if he had a living will. I said no. He then ask me if he had any medical problems. The onc had told me 3 days prior that he only had days. Anyway I told the ER doctor ...do what you got to do. He again told me with his problems that life support was only punish him more. I again said...do what you got to do. I stepped outside and used cell to call my Pastor to just talk. I did not know what decision to make concerning life support. My Pastor told me that if someone was ready to go then to not keep them here and prevent them from going home to be with the Lord. But if they were not saved and ready to go then keep them on life support till they got saved (if possible).

    Did not mean to throw all this in but just started typing. Again I will be praying for you. God Bless.

    I see my Onc every three months. He orders a CT one 3 months and then a x-ray the next time. I have not had but 1 PET and that was at dx to see if cancer was anywhere else. It has been 15 months since I was dx so don't know when a PET is due.

    Beautiful Day Today

    It was a beautiful spring day here in TN today. I got out and mowed the yard for 3 hours today. If that was not enough, I went to the local high school and walked 8 laps around the track for a total of 2 miles. Don't know what got into me. It must have been the beautiful weather.

    The builders are coming to build me a storage building tomorrow. When they are gone, I intend to hop in my truck and head out to do some fishing.

    Will check in on everybody tomorrow night (or tonight I should say). Gosh I seldom stay up this late. It is 1:00 am. Well I am going to bed now. See everbody later.
