  1. Hi Christy,

Glad to see you posting again. My pulmanory dr told me I had rad pneu but none of the other doctors would agree. I feel that I did tho. Doctor put me on Predisone 60mg. Thank God I am off them now. I hated that drug. Sam was the one that kept me posted on the subject. You might research his post. He did send me a link once but for the life of me, I have lost it. As far as it being deadly I don't know bout that. My doctors for whatever reason, won't admit it. Perhaps they are scared of a lawsuit. I am thankful to be alive and not the money. Hopes this helps some and sorry I could be of no more help.

  2. I too have been wondering about a lot of folks. I do a lot of reading and I do post every now and then but everyone is in my thoughts daily. I can understand not giving out your address on the net. There are a lot of loonies out there. There has to be a way to do this tho. A thought I had was can Rick send out an actual e-mail to try to update the list and see who is still with us. Maybe put some sort of wreath by their name on the memberlist. Sorry Rick...lol...thought you might need something to do. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks Ry for thinking about the situation.

  4. Thanks Lilian. I would rather sit down and close my eyes and picture those days then I would to sit and eat. Altho "yesteryear" is gone I still like to remember them. I can relate to most of them even tho I am only in my 40's. Tells us that times have changed fast dosen't it.

  5. Thanks everyone. Altho this was sent out for Bob I have laughed till I cried. It is truley amazing how people you don't know or have never met can cheer you up and make you laugh. That is what makes this site so special. Love you all.

Now, Bob, I am glad to see that you and your doctors have a plan in place and it sounds like a good one. Hope the radiation does the trick. Keep us informed and don't hide on us now....:lol:

  6. Hi Everyone,

Was supposed to go to the Doctor but he changed it untill this morning. Got good news. He said that the spots on my liver were benign and most likely would stay that way. He wants to do another CT prior to my next visit in April. He also said that I was doing real well and to keep up the good work. I did go to the ER for some pain last week. The ER doctor did blood work as well as x-ray and said all looked good and that I might have a slight case of flu or plain cold. He gave me an antibiotic and a muscle relaxer for the back pain. He seemed to think that my muscles have not healed from surgery yet. Anyway the relaxer has helped and the cold or flu is about passed as well and I am feeling much better now. Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers.

  7. Had some test run on 1/05. I had an ultrasound of liver and a chest x-ray. I called the onc today to see what my x-ray showed cause I have beeing feeling rather bad the last few days and I thought I might have a touch of pneumonia or the flu. I go to see him on 1/12 but anyway the results...

The spots on my liver are benign and will get another ultrasound in 4-6 months. Chest x-ray showed OK. Still feel like crap today. No fever but my back sure does hurt. I have been a little more short of breath than usual. Some soreness in chest and have been coughing a lot, which I have not done since surgery. Anyway, I wanted to check in. Slept all day yesterday and got up today at 11 am. Will check on everybody as I feel like it. Take Care and God Bless.

  8. Thanks for posting Barbara. I signed on just now with the intention of posting almost the identical post. I have felt terrible all day. I have been hurting some in the chest area also. I am scheduled to have some test tomorrow so I am going to try to tough it out till then. No sence in getting x-ray tonight and another tomorrow. I have been coughing quite a bit today and yesterday. I have not had a cough in 6 mo now.

  9. Hello again. I had a left pneumonectomy in 6/03. I am doing fine according to my doctors. I have been having pain in my back and under my breast for several weeks now. My breast gets num like when you get a tooth pulled. My main pain is in my back area. I did have chemo and rad together. The back hurts about 1 hour after I eat or drink a soda. A lot of times, like at night, if I put pressure on my back like turning over, I get the pain and have to get up and take pressure off till it stops. This also happens when I am sitting in recliner with my back against the back of recliner. I have mentioned this to my Oncologist and he didn't seem to be concerned about it. Well I am and it is getting to annoy me. I have another appt 1/17/04 to see him but am considering going to ER before long. By the way I can take a drink of milk of magnesia and it goes away shortly but returnes a while later. Has anyone else experianced this or is it me? Thanks for any input you might have. Hoping that everyone has a Merry Christmas.

  10. My story is about the same as what Carleen posted. I also drove myself to radiation. I felt like driving myself to Chemo but my wife would not hear of it. I am a bit confused on the shrinking part tho. That was the purpose of my treatment and it worked real well. I started at 7.5 cm but it had shrunk to a microscopic trace by time chemo/radiation was over. Hope this helps.

  11. I just wanted to jump in with my two cents worth. Hope it might help your MIL. I went to the doctor last week. I had a lung removed in 6/03. Prior to surgery I had carbo/taxol. The doctor made this statement about the chemo that "the combination of carbo/taxol was really doing the job and that he had been seeing noyhing but good results. By the way my tumor was 7.5 cm and was inoperable. When he removed the lung there was only a microscopic trace left. I ask him if that was before or after surgery and he said BEFORE. The chemo had shrunk it away. Anyway I wanted to let you know about my results with Carbo/Taxol. Keep in mind that everyone is different and your MIL may not see the results that I did. Take Care and God Bless.

  12. I too have this pain in my side and back area. Got a question for all of you. Does it feel like heartburn. Does the pain burn around your incesion. My onc dr can't seem to understand what I am calling pain. I do take a rolaid and it stops but I really don't think it is heartburn in my BACK. Can anyone shed some light and help me explain this to my onc? (Had surgry in 6/03)

  13. Norme, You simply put mouse on first line that you want to copy. When you put mouse on first word you then scroll down while holding the mouse button. Your words will be highlighted. Now (why highlighted) go to top of screen to EDIT. When you click EDIT you will see COPY. Click there. Now go to your letter that you are composing. In the space where you write the letter...click one time so your curser will be there as if you were going to start writing). Now go to EDIT at top again and click PASTE. You got it. You can use the PASTE over again untill you click on COPY again. This helps if you are writing more than one letter. Hope I did not loose you anywhere. Now LET'S WRITE THOSE E-MAILS AND FLOOD THEIR MAILBOX.
