Patty- Gamma Knife is a specialized minimally invasive treatment for brain tumors. Supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread!! Instead of regular radiation, it concentrates on a smaller area but with 192 zaps in that one spot. The only reason I know this is that Cleveland Clinic, where I go for chemo was the second hospital in the country to start using it. You can do a search for Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center and then click on Gamma Knife and it explains it. I tried to cut and paste the website for you but I screwed something up!! Duh!! Hope this helps - keep us posted. Will be in my thoughts and prayers. Patti B.

Hi Sally - Your post breaks my heart, too. I do know how you feel. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year and now I am just wondering if I will ever see another one. You sound a lot like me - the one in the house who does it all, remembers it all, etc. And now you not only have to cope with what you are going thru, but with what your family members are going thru. Thats a lot on your plate. I was running around getting all the Christmas decorations up and complaining about no help because I was worried about this being my last Christmas. Then my son told me - Mom, who cares what the house looks like, lets just be together for Christmas. Out of the mouths of babes, huh. Who cares if you have a tree up and lots of gifts - have your gifts to each other be that you ARE together. You don't need to cook up a storm - you just need to eat together, as a family, even if its just sandwiches!! Concentrate right now on feeling better and maybe this will be a wonderful Christmas after all, even without all the fanfare. My prayers will be with you and your family. Nova - Well, Nicks spelling and punctuation wasn't much better. Check out "me screename is" LOL!! But thats how they type on Myspace, etc. The fewer letters the better!! Hope Jacob can contact Nick either by Myspace or IM'ing - Christine may be working on another way for kids to contact each other, also!! Hope these two guys canstart a cyber-relationship with each other - I am sure it will do them both good!! Patti B.

Ken - So glad the first one is out of the way and that it went well. I also remember my first chemo - I think I looked like a deer caught in the headlights - I did not know what to expect. It was 6 1/2 hours long and then when my friend and I went to the parking garage, we couldn't find her car!! We were both convinced it was stolen. Shes crying cause she expects me to start puking at any second and I was crying cause I felt responsible for her car being stolen. The a security guard came up to us and said this happens every day; sit down, I will find it for you - and he did!! Hope you continue to handle your chemos well!! Hugs - Patti B.

When I was little, I wanted to be a nurse and I also wanted more than anything to have a horse!! Couldn't understand why my parents wouldn't buy me one to keep in the back yard. But..... Santa did bring me one year a nurses set - it had the blue cape, the white hat, and a sachel that had a plastic hypo and a fake stethescope!! I loved it and spent many hours healing my brother and sister and all my dolls!! Patti B.

Lilly- YEAH!!!!! YOU ROCK!!! Knew you could do it but I also understood the self-conscousness (sp) of going out the first time with "hair". Don't know why, but it is a scary thing!! I loved the first time I went out I rolled the car windows down and let the wind blow my hair around - it felt so good and normal again!! Hugs - Patti
