  1. Betty, As long as you are breathing there is hope! Prayer has seen me through so far and having a wonderful support system of family and friends helps too. I think attitude has a LOT to do with it and I for 1 refuse to give in to this! Prayer and good wishes sent your way. God Bless you, MO

  2. Wenna, Sounds like you and I are on the same path here. I am starting PCI on Tuesday for 15 treatments. As has been said, you are the only one who can decide what is best for you. God Bless you and may he guide you in your decision. Best Wishes, MO

  3. Ray, It originally was a 9cm tumor on right lung and was pinching off my superior veina cava. There is now about a 4cm "shadow" that my Onc. feels is scar tissue.

  4. Got final results back from endoscopy on Wednesday and it showed I had developed "shingles" in my throat! New medication and after 3 days I can tell the difference already!! I actually "ate" dinner last night for the first time in over 2 months! This has been a GREAT week! Thank you Jesus!

  5. I saw my Doctor yesterday for the results of my CT scan after I completed chemo and he said while it still showed "something" he was sure it was scar tissue from the radiation and he feels the tumor is GONE! He now want's me to do the 10 treatments to the brain as a preventative measure and I will see him again in a month to follow up. Prayers WORK!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

  6. Thank you all for the advice. The endoscopy showed 2 ulcers on my esophogus which is what is causing the pain. My Dr. gave me Carafate and Prilosec to try and it does seem to be helping a little. Hopefully a couple of weeks more of this and it will be gone. All in all, if this is the worst that comes of my treatment I consider myself VERY lucky!!

  7. I know several of you have had the same type of thing but what can you do for the pain in the esophogus caused by the radiation? I have been a month now since my last radiation treatment and still can not eat solid foods (or much of anything). I do have an appountent on Monday for an endoscopy to see if they can see a blockage or anything but any ideas in the mean time? I have been given pain pills (morphine didn't touch it" and then told to take 2 of them (which put me to sleep). About all I can eat is room temp Jello and lukewarm soup. I have lost 50 pounds in the past 3 months (which I needed to lose anyway) but now my DR. is getting on me to not lose any more weight!

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

  8. Please keep in mind that attitude is everything when fighting cancer! I firmly believe that a positive attitude and faith in one higher than me has been what has seen me thrugh the past 3 months and what will continue to see to through!

We can NOT do this by ourselves but with the support of family friends and loved ones we can accomplish anything!

  9. Lillie, Sometimes it does help to scream and have a hissy fit. I did the night I was dx'd and got it out of my system. Now my Dr.'s always laugh at me because I have such a positive attitude.
