  1. In a crowded city at a crowded bus stop a beautiful young woman was waiting for the bus. Dressed up for work, she was wearing a very tight mini skirt. As the bus rolled up and it became her turn to get on the bus she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the bus' first step. So slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver she reached behind her and unzipped her skirt a little thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. Again she tried to make the step onto the bus to discover she still could not make the step. So, a little more embarrassed she once again reached behind her and unzipped her skirt a little more. And for a second time she attempted the step and once again, much to her disgust she could not raise her leg because of the tight skirt. So with a coy little smile to the driver she again unzipped the offending skirt to give a little more slack and again was unable to make the step. About this time, the big Texan that was behind her in the line picked her up easily from the waist and placed her lightly on the step of the bus. Well, she went ballistic and turned on the would-be hero, screeching at him, "How dare you touch my body!! I don't even know who you are!!" At this the Texan drawled, "Well ma'am, normally I would agree with you but

after you unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured we was friends."

  2. Hi everybody,

I had my 7th radiation treatment today and (knock on wood) I haven't had any leg pain since yesterday.I hope it stays away this time.I get my last radiation treatment on Friday. On Monday I start on Taxotere. One treatment a week for 7 or 8 weeks. This is my first chemo.Has anyone else started on Taxotere by itself?I see a lot of posts where it is combined with something else.I lost 40 lbs on radiation alone.Maybe they are afraid of that.I just haven't noticed anyone starting with just Taxotere.Any input would be appreciated.Praying for us all.TBone

  3. Hi Tess,

I can't answer any of the chemo questions because I haven't had chemo yet.I did just have a port put in and had no problem doing that.It was not painful or stressful.I did suffer from severe fatique for almost a month after radiation treatments.I had 15 treatments to the brain and 18 to the chest. For a full month after the last treatment I had no appetite and no energy at all. That can be the cause of some of his problems.I never had nausea though.I am someone will be along soon with answers about chemo. In the meantime I continue to pray for us all.And remember to take care of yourself in this process. It takes a whole lot out of you too.TBone

  4. Hi Howard,

I am glad that you are able to enjoy the little things with your familly and that you have the pain under control.I also admire your dignity. You are a great man Howard.Your posts have meant a great deal to me.Peace be with you.Praying for us all.TBone

  5. Hi everybody,

I imagine you all get tired of hearing about my pain but I am really confused now.I celebrated being pain-free too early. It was only after my second radiation treatment when the pain disappeared and although something told me it was too early the fact that I went 36 hours pain-free just had me all excited.Well the pain has come back with a vengeance.I had my 5th treatment on Friday and I think the pain is worse this morning than it ever has been.Does anybody have any idea what is going on here?I sure would appreciate any input. The doctor said that if it worked it would take 5 or 6 treatments probably.I just can't figure why the pain completely left for 36 hours.Praying for us all.TBone

  6. Hi Rick,

I can't believe someone would send you a hate mail.I don't know when you would have time to read it.LOL.I appreciate a whole bunch all the things you and Katie do for us.Maybe since we all have your phone number now the idiot will call you next time and get nabbed by caller id and we can all tar and feather whoever it is.There is no excuse for that in my opinion.Praying for us all.TBone

  7. Hi everybody,

Thanks so much for all the responses to this.I am taking the advice of most of you and going on with the chemo. It would be stupid for me not to.I can work with the Dr on the schedule.I can change the vacation. There are lots of options that I was just not really looking at.My mind has been on my leg pain for too long..The important thing is to keep throwing something at the beast and I intend to do that.So thanks again.I needed this.Praying for us all.TBone

  8. Hi everybody,

Thanks for all your posts concerning my leg pain.I have a very slight pain this morning but nothing to complain about.I have been struggling with my decision to take chemotherapy and just thought I would take a minute to share and hopefully get some feedback from those of you that have been there.I had the port put in and am supposed to start chemo next week.I don't even know what type chemo I will start on.I am just so afraid to start it.The radiation got me down so bad that I had very little actual "feel good" time during the whole thing.Very little real quality time with family.Even in Florida I was in too much pain to do all I wanted to do.I have another vacation to Florida planned for June.Another fishing trip for the whole family. If I start chemo next week all that could be destroyed. Is putting chemo off for a month and enjoying some pain free time with the family putting me too far behind the 8 ball as far as the battle with this disease goes?Should I go ahead with the chemo next week and hope that I can do the vacation?I just have this picture of anybody on chemo as a very sick person.Does anybody take it without being sick all the time? All the chemo patients that I see on my many trips to the doctor just look so miserable.I guess maybe I am chicken.Praying for us all.TBone

  9. Hi,

Have you tried oxycontin? It is time released and worked well for me until I developed the leg pain which I think was caused by pressure on a nerve.I took 40mg every 12 hours and it kept my pain at bay.I took Senna each time I took it for constipation.Might be worth a try.Praying for us all.TBone

  10. Bubba and Earl are driving down the interstate and they see a sign that says "Free sex with fill up".Earl says pull in there Bubba.Quick.They pull in and fill up.The attendant comes up to get their money and Earl says what about the free sex.The attendant says you have to guess the secret number in order to get the free sex. Pick a number from 1 to 10.Earl says 4.The attendant says no.It was 3.You loose.Bubba says let me try.The attendant says ok.Go for it.Bubba says 5.Attendant says no stupid.I already told you it was 3.Bubba and Earl humbly leave and as they are driving down the road Earl says to Bubba. We should sue those people. That is a hoax.A trick to get you to fill up.Bubba says no its not either. My wife stopped in here 4 times last week and won all 4 times.

  11. Hi Melinda,

I am glad to see you back. You should stop beating yourself up though.Strept and pneumonia are both things that would make anyone go curl up for a few days.Take it easy and remember that to take care of anyone else you must take care of yourself first.I am glad she tolerated WBR well.WBR was horrible for me but I think that I had a lower tolerance for it than most on here. Some of the side effects didn't hit me until two weeks after the last treatment. Many others on here have had it with minimal side effects though and I hope and pray that she is on of them.Praying for us all.TBone
