  1. London,

The train was very crowded, so the soldier walked the length of the train, looking for an empty seat. The only unoccupied seat was directly adjacent to a well dressed middle-aged French lady and was being used by her little dog.

The war weary soldier asked, "Please ma'am, may I sit in that seat?"

The French woman looked down her nose at the soldier, sniffed and said, "You Americans..You are such a rude class of people. Can't you see my little Fifi is using that seat?"

The soldier walked away, determined to find a place to rest, but after another trip down to the end of the train, found himself again facing the woman with the dog.

Again he asked, "Please lady, may I sit there? I'm very tired."

The French woman wrinkled her nose and snorted, "You Americans! Not only are you rude, you are also arrogant."

The soldier didn't say anything else; he leaned over, picked up the little dog, tossed it out the window of the train and sat down in the empty seat.

The woman shrieked and railed, and demanded that someone defend her and chastise the soldier.

An English gentleman sitting across the aisle spoke up, "You know sir, you Americans do seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You eat holding the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your cars on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you've thrown the wrong witch out the window."

"And now someone is suin' them fast food restaurants fer makin'

them fat an' cloggin' their arteries with all them burgers an' fries, is

    that true, Mista Lawyer?"

    "Sure is, Bubba."

"And that lady sued McDonald's for millions when she was gave that

    hot coffee that she ordered?"

    "Yep."

"And that football player sued that university when he gradiated

    and still couldn't read?"

"That's right," said the lawyer. "But why are you asking?"

"Well, I was thin! kin' . . What I want to know is, kin I sue

  3. It only takes 9 beers for that?Wonder why they sell it in 12 packs?

Before the first beer she was so ugly that I bet the doctor slapped her mama when she was born.

  4. EVER WONDER ....

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?

Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?

Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery"?

Why is "abbreviated" such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do "practice"?

Why is it that to stop Windows 98, you have to click on "Start"?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

When dog food is new and improved tasting, who tests it?

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!

Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?

  5. You are welcome to us my photo too.Like Dean says it may scare folks off though. As you can see from Tee Taa's post we will be tied up with a relay for life down here in small town Georgia too.The support of the people in this little community for me and my family has been incredible.Nothing like the South.Ooops.I hope that doesn't offend anyone.Praying for us all.TBone

  6. Hi everybody,

I woke up for the first time in a couple of months with no pain.I am used to waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning and trying to doctor myself back to sleep and this morning I woke up in shock. No pain whatsoever except a small amount where I had the port put in.My leg feels normal.Maybe I am still full of pain meds from yesterday but I didn't take any all night.I am hoping and praying that all our prayers or radiation or something has removed it for good.I have only had two radiation treatments and I may be too optomistic but damn it feels good right now. Thanks so much for all of your support and prayers.TBone

  7. Hi Bruce,

Welcome to the best place on the net.Like everybody else I am sorry you had to find us but you did the right thing for sure. You have already been through a lot and still showing that fighting attitude and spirit.Sometimes I start loosing that spirit and I can always come here and get pumped back up.I have never seen a group like this of such wonderful people. They all seem like family to me and I really haven't been here that long.Maybe you can post some of your nature pics once in a while.I find that the photos, gifs, and humor in here do wonders for me.Praying for us all.TBone

  8. Hi everybody,

I got my chemo port put in today. My onc wants to wait a week to start chemo.I also had my second radiation treatment today for pain in my right leg.My right hip and pelvic area is being radiated and I have seen no relief yet but the rad onc says it will probably take 5 or 6 zaps if it works. There is a tumor that I can feel just under the skin in my lower abdomen/groin so I will be able to tell if anything is happening to it by just feeling it.I just hope this pain gets zapped. Not sure there is a drug strong enough for this pain.I can ease it with oxy and breakthrough oxy immediate release but by the time it stops hurting I am loaded.Praying for us all.TBone

  9. Hi,

I got in late on this but I was turned down by GVAX for having TOO MANY mets so I would be careful about praying for more.TBone

    PS

Too many being 3 different locations.I really think they turned me down for brain mets but the 3 mets thing was not on their original list.It was only after I did a PET scan that they made me aware of this qualification.TBone

  10. Hi Carleen,

I am so glad to see you and Keith back on here.I look forward to your encouraging posts.I just tried to post a reply that I spent 10 minutes typing and it disappeared in mid cyberspace. You may get it too.I have no idea what happended to it.The urinary symptoms that Keith is having sound exactly like those of a kidney infection that I had years ago.It was quickly fixed with antibiotic.I wish it could be something that simple for him.Might be worth checking.Radiation sure tears me up worse than others on here. There is no way I could work while I was getting it.I was only awake while on the way to be zapped or on the way home.It really drained me bad.I lost 30 lbs.I hope Keith doesn't have that happen to him.Praying for us all.TBone

  11. Hi everybody,

I am sorry that I confused everybody but I posted that just to show how much we need to know as far as terminoligy and all goes. The first post was word for word what they handed me when I asked for a copy of the scan results.I had to come home and dig out a dictionary too.All I know is that my doctor saw nothing on the scan that he thinks causes this pain.He is 000 that it is a lesion somewhere in my right hip area that has not appeared on scan. Some of the lesions mentioned on the report were tiny according to him.I will just pray that he is right and that the radiation works.I am already on neurontin and have been for 3 weeks. It doesn't help at all.Praying for us all.TBone

    PS.

I can kill this pain with oxycontin but it takes so much to do it that I am wasted by the time the pain subsides.

  12. HI everybody,

I got bone scan results back yesterday and posted in the test time forum for some reason.I hope that some of you browse that post and offer me advice and suggestions.Thanks.Praying for us all.TBone

  13. Hi everybody,

My doctor and me are confused too.The pain is in the right leg and nothing appears to be causing it on the bone scan.He is going to start me on 10 rounds of radition to the right pelvic/hip area on Monday because he still thinks it is being caused by a met over there somewhere that has not shown up on scans.I agreed that it is worth a try because the only other option I had at the moment was more pain pills.I will get my chemo port on Tuesday and start chemo soon too.TBone

    PS

The doctor said that there is a remote possibility that my brain could be causing the leg pain.He doesn't believe it though. He says he has seen it happen but it is a totally different type of pain.I sure hope and pray that it is not my brain and that the zaps to my hip/pelvic area will fix it.Praying for us all.TBone

  14. Conclusion:

There is increased radiotracer activity in the left scapula, right rib, lumbar spine, left femur and left tibia. These most likely represent metastatic deposits

    1.Calvarium activity appears normal

2.No increased activity is demonstrated in the cervical or thoracic spine.

    3.Pelvis and hips appear normal.

4.The ribs are normal except for an elongated area of increased radiotracer activity in the right posterior 8th rib

    5.Right femur is normal

6.Right tibia and fibula are normal.

    7.Kidneys are normal.

Now.I wonder what all this means?LOL.TBone

  15. Hi Fay,

I can't stand anything near or in my eye and I can't imagine how irritating that must have been.Constant irritation from a tumor scratching your eye.I am so glad that you got it fixed.Hopefully the vision and everything will return to normal soon.Did you get my pm about the dogwood pics?Praying for us all.TBone

  16. We had a "hair pulling".All mine came out in one day after a radiation treatment.Me and the kids went to the back yard and they "pulled it out" and we all laughed out loud.Got it on video too.TBone

  17. Bob I hope you hurry on back.We started the radiation treatments at the same time and they gave us both hell.We are back now and starting chemo together.I hope you get to feeling well enough to post.I miss your posts and it is nice to share when going through the same treatment.Praying for your continued strength and wellness and looking forward to seeing you post.TBone

  18. Oh well.I have never been one to follow rules.I just have to add that this place means the world to me and my family.I have no idea how you keep up with all this and still work and do other things and manage to have that smile and sense of humor.I could never thank you enough.Praying for us all.TBone

  19. I made a couple of posts about WBR and its effects on me in March and they can be found in either this forum or the NSCLC forum.I lost my appetite for 2 months.I ate nothing solid and lost 30 lbs.I also was so fatiqued that I slept 20 hours a day. Most of these symptoms did not appear until a week or so after the last of 15 treatments.I lost all my hair on the 10th treatment.I will add that after the WBR I started radiation to the chest.A total of 18 treatments and it could well have contributed to the fatique and appetite.Others on here seem to not have had the problems that I had with it.I will add though that without the WBR I probably wouldn't be here. They did cause shrinkage and I had one large tumor that was threatening my life.Praying for us all.TBone
